diarrhea...

My doctor said I can't take anything for diarrhea. Does anyone have any suggestions on nature remedies?

This lasted less than 12 hours. I think it was caused my the greasy pizza I had on top of the greasy eggs I had for breakfast. The BRAT diet sounds pretty good after the day I had! I was afraid to eat this morning.

How bad and frequent is the diahrrea?  I had pregnancy induced IBS with my last pregnancy, and I couldn't eat anything without having to immediately run to the bathroom and spend an hour in the bathroom.  The cramping was excrutiating and it was miserable not being able to leave the house or eat anything.  I was sent to a gastroenterologist and he had me take a half an immodium before eating and gave me a prescription for bentyl, which calms the intestinal cramping.  It helped until about 16 weeks, when the IBS cleared itself up.  If it is extremely painful and frequent you could always ask to be referred to a gastro.

Easiest thing to help is the BRAT diet. Bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. If it's getting bad, drinking something with electrolytes such as gatorade (they have lower sugar varieties which are a better option, I'm currently living off of G2 gatorade with my nausea). If it becomes a problem, take some extra fiber from either something such as Benefiber, or naturally from whole grains, oatmeal, etc. to help get you more on track.

Milk of magnesia (spelling?) Is safe in pregnancy. Just don't self medicate for more than 24 hours.

fiber, rice, and keep up your fluid intake so you don't get dehydrated...but don't drink anything too sugary as that can make diarrhea worse!

Fiber!! It's very important to make sure you're getting enough, as it will help keep you more regular.

Maybe get some diary in you. A cup of milk. I hate everything about milk, especially taste but I believe it does slow down bms. If you can stand it, try it.
