Glad to hear all is well. Docs where I have been don't use the plastibell, they jsut snip the skin off and call it good.
so i called the after hours number for my doctors office and the doc called me back and said as long as its not bleeding profusely or oozing discharge that its totally fine and is probably just healing faster than most. which he said i should just feel lucky about lol and continue cleaning it and applying vaseline after diaper changes for at least the next five days and that everything is just fine and normal with his penis...FEW! haha thanks anyways girls! idk why i didnt think to try an after hours number for the doctors office (thanks losing...i owe ya one!) i feel so much better after hearing it from a doctor even though DF swore up and down that it was most likely fine and just healing fast...he got to say a big "i told ya so" haha but i dont care im glad its ok!!!
Oh okay sorry, I didnt notice anything cause i was pretty much on bedrest after i gave birth cause of the epidiosomy lol.. so Df did all the changes, he jsut informed me that they only wrapped it with a bandage or something so i guess there was no clip or anything. im sorry for the misunderstanding, Im very very tired lol.. im sure you understand, but yea i was told they are trying new ways to do it. Without any plastic or metal rings. Which i like I guess, Df said the the bandage was to come off the next day after words and heal on its own and thats what it did. I dont know if there trying this everywhere or jsut where im from. So saying that i dont know anything, like i thought, you might wanna call someone
im *bumping* because i didnt think you saw my last question i had for u ammanda lol
Sounds perfectly normal.. Try not to worry hun, i know its easier said then done. but everything sounds fine!!!!
u called it a clip? was urs the little plastic ring with a string tied around it or did they use a different method with your son? could u explain that a little more?
thats the thing....it looks totally normal...it isnt even all scabby or bruised...no bleeding whatsoever not even a little. its only a little swollen ...not too swollen though....just like it has been since we got it done...even a little less swollen then when we first had it done actually...and it doesnt hurt him to touch it when i put on the vaseline...is he just a super fast healer? because they say the plastibell (plastic ring) will fall off on its own when the glands have healed....it looks normal...i just dont get it and im very scared. its just one thing after another for me lately.
Coles clip fell off after a day and half. And his is perfectly healed. The clip doesnt have to be on there for 7 to 10 days. i dont know what thats talking about. i know i was worried about every lil thing, with his circumsision. Id say dont worry about it. unless it starts bleeding alot. coles bled a lil bit but not much and it also got a lil puss. and also dont put too much of the vasoline, just a glob on the pad before u put it over his penis. and only do that for 24-48 hours is what i was told.. and dont mess with it... if your worried u can still call the labor and delievery lol.. thats what i did, when we ran out of the vasoline, and couldnt find any, i called them and asked them what else to use and by then it was 3 days later and they told me to stop using it right then. but its fine. like I said Coles fell off within a day and half.
Neither of my boys had the plastic ring kind of circumcision. Is there an after hours number for your doctor you could call to ask about it? That would probably be the best thing to do. If not, as long as it isn't bleeding and doesn't seem to be cuasing him distress I don't see why it can't wait until first thing monday morning. But if it has you really concerned, check and see if maybe your insurance company has a nurse line you can call. Usually calling a doctors office or ER they will just tell you they can't give you advice unless you come in.
i have all girls so i don't know how much help i can be but i would say look into your phone book in the town you're in.. there has to be hospitals open for emergency and such.. call and ask to speak with a nurse. explain your situation and they should advise you. let them know that you don't have access to your regular doctor but need to know if he needs to be seen. I am sure they will help you. best of luck!
