I am very careful and cautious

I am happily married and recently stopped birth control for 3 months because I was not as active and due to not being able to pick up a prescription due to lack of insurance. We are very cautious and have always used condoms even with birth control! We have had protected sex everytime and my husband has even gone to the extent of making sure the condom is not broken or has any sort of leakage. I am one week late on my period? Although I have taken 3 pregnancy tests that were negative I am feeling sharp pains in my stomach and feeling like I have my period without the actual blood. My question is does the fact that I just started a pack of my loestren 24 pack of birth control pills matter in my situation?.........What shall I do......

worriedbabe answered your question beautifully.

I dont know how much birth control pills cost w/out insurance but you could also use a spermicide in addition to condoms.  Condoms  do have a failure rate of up to about 5%.

it could be the birth control. if i were in your position though, because of the sharp pains - i would see a dr. periods can be delayed/ missed altogether for many, many reasons. i don't think you're pregnant. however, bear in mind...the most careful of us can still get pregnant, i've been caught out on contraception 3 times. it's a possibility you should always keep in the back of your mind when you're sexually active.
