I fell Fell today

I can't believe I fell in the office today, bruised my knees and pulled my toe nail on the big toe.  I fell knees first then rolled.  So glad I didn't land on my tummy.  My toe was bleeding pretty bad for a while....Any advise on separated toe nail?  Sorry so gross, I know.  On the bright side, the fall might of flip Hayden into head sown position!

If the nail is completely separated from the nail bed, then you need to go into your podiatrist's office and they can remove it. They'll numb it with a shot and just get plier type things and pull it out.

I've stubbed my toe so bad on 2 occasions that it had completely separated from the bed except for the "root" (cuticle area) of the nail which was still in... I just grabbed some steralized pliers and yanked it out. It hurt but I had pain medicine for migraines at the time and took a vicoden about 1 hr before doing it. (IBprofen too)

There was a step, I guess when I stepped down, I lost my balance and fell forward.  Yes, I think my big toe nail is halp separated....and it hurt like he@# when I stand up so now I am in the office with my legs up.  Should I just wrap it with bandage or tape?  Now I have to have a permenant bnandage on my toe all Summer and no pedicure.
Do you cut the nail??

ouch!  I lost several toe nails when I was training for a half marathon and boy does it hurt!  About all you can do is wrap it up well  to protect it from knocks and use dilute peroxide to try and prevent infection (ouch again).  Of course, dont use anything that will stick to the bleeding part!  Aside from that, there is little you can do and it will hurt for about a week until the skin starts to calouse over.

Thank goodness   you didnt end up on your tummy!
