I think I'm jealous of our dog?

My hubby and I just rescued a dog. She's a good dog. Very smart and super sweet.  But I feel like my husband is picking the dog over me. I'm not a dog person I'm a cat person.  We have also had a cat about a year.  My cat is not allowed to sleep in our bed or with us, as per my husband's rules which I never argued.

Well we got this dog a few weeks ago. And I'm not liking it. Nothing is wrong with the dog necessarily.  But hubby decided she gets to sleep on our bed with us and she's a big dog. But of course she won't curl up by him she just inches her way into spot so I'm all smoothed and she's to big for me to push away. Hubby for whatever reason is sleeping diagonal on the bed now so I can't even use a feeakin pillow because his head is in the way but he sleeps with his knees up so I'm stuck in one teeny tiny spot. The dog lays on my blankets and I can't put them on at night when I'm cold because I can't move this big *** dog. She even has a food and water dish IN MY ROOM so she doesn't ever have to leave! There's fur all over everything.  She keeps chewing all my shoes. She only listens to hubby. And he has to bring her everywhere!  If we go in the car for any reason he brings her. I have zero alone time with my husband.  He even buys her food every time we go out! He spends all day talking to the dog and playing with the dog and oh my god dog dog dog dog dog! We were sitting and he could tell I was mad and he came over to kiss me and this dog jumped in and stole my kiss!

I know it's just a dog. I know my hubby is excited.  He's asked if I'm jealous of the dog but the way he says it makes me feel bad like he thinks it's pathetic so I just say no. I feel silly for saying I am but I think I'm jealous.  I've started to notice myself getting mad at the dog over these things and that's not ok. I'm just confused.  Am I just hormonal or would this bug other women?

It bugs me so much I no longer sleep at night. Hubby is working 7 days a week right now and I sleep when he's at work

Don't feel bad. I went through the same thing a few weeks ago. I've been living with my boyfriend for almost 2 years and his dog had always been spoiled for attention and been seemingly hogging him all the time. She would sleep between his legs and across his body all night, leaving me no room. She whined constantly for his attention and got jealous if he got overly affectionate with me. I changed things by laying down a foundation where neither the dog or I have more power. The dog cannot come first with a baby on the way. So some nights I did not allow her on the bed st night. She cannot come up on the couch anymore unless asked. I also spent more time with her, as much as she annoyed me, so that she respected and listened to me more as the boss around the house. My boyfriend didn't like it too nuchbat first, and yours may not either. But you need to feel good in the house and a dog, though part of the family and loved, should know its place. Talk it out with him and you may feel better. Good luck!

Sound like you need to set some rules hun. My hubby goes to bed around 2 hours before me somedays because of his job and he likes to take the cat up to bed with him... But the rule is that the cat comes down when I go to bed as I can't sleep with the door open and as much as I live my cat I can't sleep with him in the room, I just picture him mauling my face off or something lol. If we had a dog the rule would be the same, but then I don't think I would allow the dog upstairs. The cat knows where he is allowed and where he isn't.
Put your foot down, I'd be going insane x
