hCG

I'm having my hCG omnitered because i had an early miscarriage a couple months ago i find out thursday how far a long i am because i have irregular periods.. anyhow.. my hCG exactly one week ago was 186 now today it is supposed to be at around 1200 but its 4300! Is this a sign of twins or anything? this is my third child so you would think i'd know these things but never had my hCG checked before.. also, i have two girls now and with them i didn't really have a ''feeling'' as to what their genders were.. this one i feel strongly is another girl.. did any of you have a feeling and were you right? Thanks in advance for any advice.:)

It is very difficult to tell from just 2 betas and even then you may just have a very strong pregnancy. The norm is to double every 48-72 hrs, looks like yours is around 36hrs.Your first ultrasound would be able to determine if you are carrying twins. Even then sometimes the second doesnt develop ( I went through that with this pregnancy but my betas were doubling every 22 hrs).As far as gender I was convinced I was having another boy and I am having a girl.
