It's not just about introducing bacteria, but also about irritating the cervix as well. It's best to check the position of your uterus from the outside. However at 8 weeks it will most likely still be behind the pubic bone.
My first appt was a week ago today....I saw and heard the heartbeat and they said everything looked fine....but I guess the reason I'm always checking is because I m/c my first pregnancy and I am constantly paranoid about losing this one....
i used to worry about that in the beginning of my pregnancy too. but just wait till you go to your first appt and your doctor will do a check up and feel in there and if he or she thinks something is wrong they will let you know. but dont worry if it feels swollen! it could just be your cervix your feeling and while being pregnant your cervix does feel different. good luck with your pregnancy :)
Nothing to worry about. Ovulation is slightly different only because there's no baby there at that time. If you do introduce any infection or bacteria it might cause miscarriage. Best to always let a doctor do those things. :) Good luck with your pregnancy.
this is my first pregnancy and I didn't know that I wasn't supposed to do that...i do wash my hands and try to keep them clean...i guess i figured since it was ok to check during ovulation it would be ok now
I will definitely stop not....thank goodness the swelling is down today
thanks for your comments
You arent supposed to "check" yourself.
I've never had this, but it's strongly advised you don't ever check yourself. You introduce bacteria and infection, even if you wash your hands. This is also why your doctor doesn't do many internal checks. It might be from sex, increased blood flow to the area, or irritation.
I member having that problem in 08' I think it was from the sex...since I was on a ramppagee when I was pregnant and super wanted to do it all the time..lol
