Why am I measuring sp far behind?

I posted this in the June 09 forum, but I need to here from some other ladies that have been here too, and past there first trimester, or didn't. Here is a repost.....

This is my first post, but I have been lurking for awhile. I am currantly 6-7 weeks pregnant. After having 4 previous misscarriages, I have already had 3 ultrasounds. I tested positive on 10/20/08. My scans were as follows:

10/31- Gestational sac seen. no yolk sac or fetal pole. Gest.sac measured 5w 3 d
11/07- Yolk sac seen , No fetal pole. Dr was happy to see the progress.
11/14- Gest.Sac hasn't grown much since last week, but has "rounded out".Baby measures 5w 5 days, heartrate 104 BPM

My Hcg levals have been rising nicely, but how could I have measured 5w 3 d on 10/31, and measure 5w 5d 2 weeks later?? Dr. says that I could be off on my dates, but I got a positive pregnancy test almost 4 weeks ago. There is no way that I am only 5 w 5 d. Everything felt so good with this pregnancy, but know I am just not so sure. I have to back next week for another scan. This is TORTURE!

Thanks,
Laura

My story does not end well. I found out on Friday that the baby has passed away. I have had a D & C yesterday so they can do a chromosomal test. Thanks for the thoughts, and best of luck to everyone!

Hi.. And Welcome.

I am not sure why you would be measuring so far behind. Especially if you are sure of your conception date. Did you ask the Dr. that did the u/s and tell him there was no way that was possible? I am sure you asked, I am just stumped.. I wish you the best of luck with this pregnancy and am sorry to hear of your prior losses!

Keep us posted.

Yes, I have been seeing a Reproductive Endocronologist. She has not been able to find anything wrong with me. I think that is more frusterating than anything. I wish I at least knew what I was up against!!

Boy, I am not sure... but I really wish you luck.  But, only two additional days of growth in 2 weeks does sound a little suspicious.  Hopefully you will get an answer soon...

Not to be nosey, but if you have had 4 prior miscarriages that were recurrent (I am assuming they were), did you go see a specialist or do you know the reasons for those miscarriages?  I ask because this might give some insight as to why this pregnancy seems to have slow growth... I truely wish you the best.  Hopefully your doctors monitor you closely :)
