oh okay, that makes since, Ive never heard of IUGR though. Ill have to read on that. But no he didnt seem too worried at all so Im sure everything is fine. I just worry so much about this baby, cause for one its my first pregnancy, and Im always questioning myself about if im doing everything right. and two my fiancee lost his son at birth 2 years ago from a previous marriage, It had something to do with she got sick and she was anerexic so her body couldnt fight it off, and it got to the baby or something and anyway the baby was born with an extended stomach, I seen pictures for the first time and got to hear him tell me what happend just the other day, It was very hard for him to talk about before. I just couldnt imagine him having to go throught that again. And I could defiantly not go through something happening to my baby. But thank you so much for the reasurrance
I don't think so...I know some women have said that when their amniotic fluid measured low they felt things a lot more sharply than normal, and every single movement was very big and easy to feel....but I think aside from that the only way to know is u/s measurement. The only time it really matters is if the fluid is REALLY low, or leaking prematurely, and obviously your doctor isn't concerned about that. He MAY be worried about IUGR (intra-uterine growth restriction...which means the baby's just not growing as fast as it should) and I think that they induce for IUGR too because the theory is that IUGR doesn't resolve itself no matter how many weeks are spent in utero, so it's better to get the baby out and let the growth happen like normal outside the womb...
idk but like i said it doesn't sound at all like something to worry about. your doctor would have been a lot more aggressive about ordering tests and having you come back in sooner if something seemed like it was wrong...I'm sure he's got a good reason for it, lol, even though doctors "good reasons" can drive us insane when they don't explain them well enough!
oh wow thats funny.. im not used to this computer/keyboard. I just moved a couple days ago, and on my moms computer it has spell check and this one dont so Im on my own. lol
But yea I'm not gonna call him Ill just wait till my appointment in 2 weeks, I have my baby shower on Sunday and I dont want anything rueining it or me having to worry. Thanks to you girls I'll be worry free for awhile.. thanks!!
but one more thing, If there was too low of amniotic fluid would I know it? I mean without an u/s
I just have to say that that was the best typo EVER..."sexplain" LOL sorry...not to make light of what you're going through hon!!!
I don't know why he would say he would possibly induce you earlier without explaining it all, but maybe he just didn't realize he wasn't being clear...just make sure and call and ask, he should be able to put your mind at ease <3.
Thanks girls. I mean i sat in there and listened to everything he said and it made since in there, and then after I left I was just so confused. But Im not gonna worry, I feel him moving all the time and I just had an u/s 2 weeks ago and he looked perfect. My appointments are every two weeks(well for one more) so i will have an appointment in 2 weeks on the 23rd or something like that lol. And I will ask him about it then. But Although I did forget some of what he said, I am positive he never said anything about amniotic Fluid. Which it does make perfect sense now that you guys mentioned it, i just wonder why he didnt sexplain that to me, Cause I was so worried to, cause he said he could be small but then said something about inducing labor sooner, So I was like wtf if hes small then why would you take him out lol. But agian like I said he did say that he could be more torwards my back. But thanks for responding it meant alot to me.
I agree with sunkissed on all of it....try not to worry, they may just be considering it a case of low amniotic fluid which isn't dangerous (obviously as long as it's not TOO low) but it's something you want to avoid in the later stages of pregnancy for a number of reasons, which may be why they would aim for a 36wk delivery.
but you really should call your doctor and ask all these things...he can explain it to you. tell him that you're just not comfortable with so little knowledge and you would appreciate if he would explain what he meant so you can rest easy for the next 4 wks.
hang in there I'm sure it'll all turn out fine :)
okay, first of all take a deep breath! I have had perfect appointments and perfect ultrasounds my entire pregnancy but i have also measured 3-4 weeks behind starting at the very beginning when they started to measure my uterus size (which is what theyre measuring...not your cervix...that would be tricky lol) but last week when i went in at 32 weeks i measured 33 weeks so i caught up and even jumped up a week! i really dont think eating more can help your uterus grow..i think you just have to let it go on its own (but im not sure on that one...just doesnt make sense to me) But i can tell you since im high risk i get ultrasounds all the time and my uterus measuring small has not inhibited his growth in anyway...he has been measuring perfectly right on track u/s after u/s ...he's just had less room and has been more squished lol. Your doctor obviously didnt explain the whole delivery in 4 weeks thing to you properly....the only reason you would be possibly delivering in 4 weeks would be if they did the ultrasound and the reason you are measuring smaller is because of loss of amniotic fluid...otherwise if baby is just small (which is the other possibility that u could be measuring small) then they will just leave in him there to grow! or you could be like me and just have a slow stretching uterus...in which case everything would be perfectly fine...ur baby boy will just be squished and uncomfortable like mine is until u stretch more.
