Miscarriage or NOT

I went to the doctor last Tuesday thinking I may have had a miscarriage. After the blood test, pelvic exam, and ultrasound (both vaginal and abdominal) the doctor couldn't see anything on the ultrasound but my HCG level was in the 6 thousands. I had to follow up in two days. So I went back on Friday and after all the test were repeated. They still didn't see anything on the ultrasound and my HCG level increased a couple of hundreds. They said it could be an ectopic pregnancy but they don't know. I go see my OB/GYN tomorrow. Has anybody ever had this to them?

By 7 weeks they should be seeing something if they are doing an internal ultrasound even if it is only a sac. I would ask for a repeat ultrasound in a week since you are still early and if you ovulated later than you thought it could cause you to not see anything yet. Even a week can make a HUGH difference. But when you see your doctor tomorrow I would have him check to make sure it is not ectopic because if that is left un-treated for too long it could case serious problems. Best of luck and please keep us informed.
