pregnancy question

I had an ultrasound done yesterday and the Tech had to measure my cervix because I been having "ALOT" of pressure and I heard her say babys head was way down and they couldnt get any pics of her head area and the cervix it was at 2.9, what exactly does that mean ? am I close to labouring? should I be concerned? I did in fact ask, but the Tech said they cant tell me that information. And tehy were also talking about a 3 vessel cord, but everything was fine they say about that ??? another question they would not directly  answer about...anyone help me out there???

My cervix has measured 2.5cm since 18 weeks.  I have ultrasounds done to check cervical length every 2 weeks due to a high risk pregnancy.  They consider 3cm+ to be a normal cervical length.  They do ultrasound to check cervical length cause then they can predict if your cervix is shortening or your baby could be putting pressure on your cervix.  If they said you are 2.9cm, you have a closed cervix with a length of 2.9cm. If they didn't mention anything more then you are more then likely NOT close to labor quite yet. If you go back in 2 weeks and it has shortened then they would be able to predict if you were indeed gonna go into labor soon.  The 3 vessel cord is a good thing.  That's what your baby should have. Hope this helps some.

probably meant you are 2% effaced. Or 2cm dilated. So I would just be prepared it might be soon you have your little one, if you are close to your due date, a lot of woman walk around 1-3 cm dilated for weeks .
