Infection?

I had a C-Section 15 days ago, it has been getting cleaned with cooled boiled water and cotton wool daily since then, as it has still been weeping etc and part of the wound is still open on the left side.   Today that wee bit has began bleeding, whereas before it was just "oosy", and it has a bit of a smell coming from it, despite getting cleaned.   It has also been getting aired for twenty mins a day, as thats what the midwife at the hospital told me to do.   I can't really see the incision as the excess stomach from bump still protrudes over it, so I can only see it by looking in a hand held mirror, held under my bump.   Anyone else who has had a C-Section had this? x

Yeah took my first antibiotic tonight so fingers crossed they settle it down a bit.   we sat down and had a talk, I said to him I'll do what I can, which I always have done, but he needs to understand that although I look fine and that, I can only do so much before I  need to rest for a while.   he apologised, and has been watching what he been saying - and he noticed that i swept all the floors downstairs yesterday so thats a plus I guess x

Yeah I think I need to be a little bit easier on myself and not stress too much if  things aren't done to my usual standard housework wise...got a huge pile of ironing to be done lol.     I got staples after my op, they were meant to be taken out after 5 days but the health visitor took them out after 4.   Been started on Co-Amoxiclav so just taken my first one there just now.   Thank you, I'm loving being a mum :)   I can't believe he is two weeks already.   aww congrats :)  do you have any others x

I over did myself pretty bad after just the first day walking around the hospital becuase I was tired of laying and laying there. But I paid for it The next day . Did you peel your strips off or did they fall off . I bleed a few days after but not that long . My mother is a nurse and she said don't wait any longer then what you have to becuase you could reallllly get sick and be hospitalized ! Good luck n Congrads on being a mom it goes by fast my son just turned one 5/18/13

well Im here, they have taken a swab, the midwife could actually get it into the open hole :-\  its tender to touch and is apparently really red and hot to touch, which i can't feel cause Im still numb down there, Dr said i definitely have an infection so getting broad spectrum antibiotics now, then when the results come back ill be changed onto the antibiotic most suitable for the infection x

Ya I would def get it checked out doesnt matter if uhad a csection or if its a cut on your leg doing that go to the hospital infections can spread super fast

I only really rested for a week, ten days max, since then I've been doing bits and bobs round the house, general tidying, the washing etc, but only cause I have to.   just waiting on a friend finishing work so they can take me as I'm not cleared to drive yet x

My mother had her Csection infected due to not really let her body heal before doin strainin work in nd out the house.. just like that oozin nd foul odor

I've to pop down to the maternity ward for someone to have a look at it, just trying to organise a lift now x

the drs is over a mile away in the next town and i dont have anyone to drive me there, i would need to push the wee boy in his pram and walk x

If they dont call back just go in and tell the receptionist you need to see someone.

I'll give them a call, see what they say, I didn't think it should be like that, and tis was obv my first baby si I wasn't sure.   It still looks quite red and I expect that, but did't think it should be weeping, bleeding and open still x

I've had two and never had that, id call ASAP sounds like an infection

i would def. mention it to your doctor, mine told me oozing was a sign of infection, and none of mine was still open by 15 days,  but it may look bright red and raw for a while but not actually be open. i would call though!
