Hi there, I am currently 18 weeks pregnant, and while I was having my ultrasound done 2 days ago, the tech said I was having contractions that I couldn't feel.
Today I saw my doctor, and said the ultrasound reviled that I have a low-lying placenta , but nothing about the contractions. When I told her this, she became concerned and asked me if I had the same thing with my son. I had already told her my history with my son, (about 10 braxton-hicks contractions an hour from 26 weeks on, and PROM at 35 weeks), she said I could give birth early again. SHe told me not to fly or travel and watch for any bleeding/fluid leakage. I told her I've had cramps for 4 days but she said that's normal. She said I have basically, an irritable uterus (she used a different term), and to be careful with my tummy and not bump it, etc. However, she said I should work as long as possible so I have more time off, even though I told her I am on my feet running around all day at a long-term care facility.
Any one else have a 'irritable uterus' and suggestions? I am petrified these cramps will turn into labor (although nothing was wrong with my cervix at the ultrasound, they told me) and want to do everything possible to prolong the pregnancy as long as possible. Even 10 more weeks would give my son a chance.
Thanks for any info!
