i have to say i feel like a totally bad person and mother, because i am 36w and got my vitamins obviously months ago, but through out the pregnancy i just can not remember to take them!!!  i feel so guilty like i am causing harm to my son, but i have tried so many things to remember to take them, and it just doesn't seem to work. i have had numerous US's and each one has been perfect, he is doing really well, infact he is growing like a weed, at 34w he was about 6lbs already.

Thanks guys, i went to the doctors finally and my midwife had me stop taking the prenatals and start taking folic acid twice a day and b12 3 times a day instead. she says later on when im feeling better like in the 2nd trimester i can continue the prenatals if im really wanting the extra vitamins. or she just suggested to take kids vitamins later if i wanted instead. and yes i was taking the prenatals at night but i still yacked em up! but now i have a different plan thats working just fine now : ) so im a happy camper...but thank you so much for all the helpful tips and replies!

I too had that problem when I was in my first trimester.  Everytime I took one not 5 minutes later I would throw up. So what I did was take one at night in bed & then lay down as soon as I was done swallowing it.  As long as I layed there very still & didn't move for about 15 minutes I was fine.  Then after the 15 minutes I was ok to move & roll around again.
Hope this helps!

My doctor told me to not take them since I was having morning sickness and as soon as I started feeling better then to start taking them again.  He also said that I could get the vitamins needed through my food and dring intake in the meantime.  I started taking them about 3 months along and now am feeling just fine.  Also, take them at bedtime with something small to eat and it really really helps.

You can eat chewables or gummies (the children ones). Or your doc can prescribe sugar-coated pills so they don't taste as bad.

I always take mine before bed, too. It helps!

I am having the exact same problem as you. Every time I take them, they come right back up. My doctor suggested that I try taking them late at night, right before bed, and even cutting them in half to make them easier to take. Also, it may be the iron in them that is causing the vomiting. If it persists, you can ask for a low or no iron vitamin, which is what I did. I still cut mine in half, but I don't throw them up as much as I did before.  I really don't have any other suggestions, except to hang in there and know that it will all be worth it in the end. :)
