You need to know when you ovulate in order to conceive. Some women use ovulation kits but that costs money and time. I've never actually done them so I can't knock 'em, but I can tell you what method worked for me.
Your body lets you know when you're ovulating. You have CM (cervical mucous). When you use the restroom you'll know if there is CM because it'll be on the toilet paper. As your body prepares for ovulation, you'll have CM that is yellowish or cloudy or white, and is sticky or tacky to touch (it stretches less than an inch or not at all). When you ovulate and the egg is ready for fertilization, your CM will become CLEAR (like raw egg whites) and stretch to over an inch.
To test, you have to touch the CM (I know... it's kind of gross). Put it between two fingers and pull apart to gauge if it is clear and how far it stretches.
Any time you see CM, have sex because you only have about a 48-hour period to conceive in a given cycle. Sperm lives up to three days so you do not have to have sex every single night or multiple times. Doctors believe it may be negative in trying to conceive because you could deplete DH's sperm count.
Anyway, I got preggo on the first shot doing this. Not everyone gets it on the first try, but if you don't have fertility issues, you should be preggo within three months of doing it this way, based on the statistics.
There is always a possibility of pregnancy if you have un-protected sex. However you wont know for sure until you miss your period or maybe a day or two in advance. Good luck I hope you get the BFP you are looking for! :)
