Embarrassing Problem!! ANYONE.....PLEASE HELP!

Okay, sorry if this is too much information but I am at my breaking point!!!  I am almost 30 weeks and this problem started on 5/4 so almost three weeks now.  I have had redness and irritation that itches on the skin around my anus (I hate that word).  My doctor has looked at it and didn't really give me a specific reason for it.........he just said to try a few different creams but nothing has helped and it won't go away!  Then I was thinking maybe its hemorrhoids and so the area is just itchy and irritated.  It gets worse sometimes at night and wakes me up from a dead sleep because it itches so bad!  What the heck is this?!

Does anyone know what I am talking about??  Any suggestions??  I would appreciate anything at this point!!!!!  I am so very uncomfortable because of it and can't even be intimate with my partner:(

Thank you sooo much for answering...............the thought of pinworms crossed my mind also because of it being so intense at night sometimes.  It is getting to be comletely unbearable!!!!!!!!!  I have never suffered daily like this in my life plus its so embarrassing to even talk about:(

I had the same thought as KStarr.  It could be pinworms.  You should get it checked out further.

The redness and irritation could be from scratching, if the itching causes this. It sounds like it is probably hemoroids, why didn't your doctor say more about it? You've been using the creams as suggested and they aren't working.. I'd hate to freak you out, and I'm not sure why this would be causing such a problem so suddenly, but it could possibly be pinworms. There is a medhelp page on this, I believe. I know it sounds horrible, but it's more common than you think and you should probably google it and find some more info. If there is none of this irritation on the inside and just on the outside, then this wouldn't be the case.. it would probably be some sort of infection, yeast perhaps? I'm not sure!  I don't know enough about it to give you a better answer. I'm sorry you're so uncomfortable. :(

maybe hemroids??? IDK:( I had the same thing I think. My doctor offered to look at it but I didnt have time. Mine went away within a week. Sorry I couldnt help more.
