GOING CRAZY - POSSIBLE ECTOPIC PREG???

Hi everyone. I am new to this site and I hope someone here will read this and give me some insight because i'm going crazy with worry. I apologize if it's long but it's so much info. So, on Dec. 26 I had a miscarriage at about 4 weeks. I went to the doctor for my f/up and everything was "fine". I had protected sex the week after my follow up (Jan 15th or so). On Jan 30th, I took a preg test and it was positive. I realized that my hcg levels might still be high enough for a + hpt, so i took a blood test. As I was told my HCG level was 18,574! I just went for a sonogram to determine if I was preg again and they told me that I had (huge) blood clots in my uterus and no sign of a pregnancy. Now my question is, could there still be fragments left over from my m/c alond with these blood clots causing this high of a number???? These levels are extremely high for a possible 3-4 week pregnancy :-(. Could it be ectopic??? They said they saw no signs of an ectopic pregnancy either. Is it too early to tell? I took another blood test and will post the new results tom. once i find out. I am so worried. PLEASE HELP :'-(

i had an ectopic spotted at about the same stage as you, right outside my right ovary. but, it was only just spotted...what may be a sac or a cyst. I'd get my hcglevels tested again, if they're going up, you're pregnant in one way or another and will have a further scan to see what's going on. If the levels fall, chances are it's still hcg from the miscarriage

I had a eptopic and lost one tube.  If it was a ectopic then you would have pain on one side.  It sounds like you need a DNC.  I was told after my mc's that if every thing did not pass then my levels would not go back to normal an it could cause other problems.  If you feel any pains at all go to the ER.  Trust me... ectopic pains are worse than child birth.  I'm going to be praying for you.  Keep us posted.  Anita

Hello Everyone... I'm sorry that it took so long to update - been really busy. Anyway so I found out that after the second hcg test that my level was 7,575 after the initial one at 18,574.. so they believe that I had another m/c and will have to do a D&C. So no ectopic pregnancy, which I am sooo relieved about. I want to thank you guys for responding and helping me when I was feeling so worried. Good luck and God bless to all of you guys.

Thanks for your concern and keeping me in your prayers. I really appreciate it. It's hard not knowing what's going on inside ur own body :-(. I do believe i'm going to have to go in again for another check. I get my new hcg levels today so I guess that will give a better sense of what the hell is going on.. The number was sooo high that's what's worrying me. And my boobs are gettin bigger again (they went back to normal a couple weeks ago), so that's what's really bothering me as well..

I'll post back after I hear what is going on.

Thanks for responding to me.. They took another hcg level and I"m actually going to call in a couple of hours to see what it is. The Doctor told me that it really doesn't look like an ectopic preg. but if the numbers are high then it just might be :-\. They said they'll probably need to do another D&C... So that's where I stand right now

it doesn't sound like an Ectopic pregnancy.

Since you had a MC at 4 weeks along, then I'd say that possibly your uterus never really cleared itsself out.

Honestly, I'd say go for a follow up U/S and hormone level check. If it all looks the same, then to me.... it sounds like a Molar pregnancy that was never fully miscarried. You'd need a D&C probably.

Go in for another check. Your in my prayers!

try not to worry,easy said than done i know.If it was eptopic they would be able to tell,with levels that high.chances are its left over hormones from your mc.what have they suggested to do.I wish you luck and hope they sort it out for you.
