Well i brought my partner with me and my computer...hoping for wifi. which they didnt have so i played games on my comp and painted pictures on my comp for brent! haha i was too weak and dizzy and out of it to read i tried but it didnt work! Yes i started going crazy at the end.
God, what did you do during all that time! Im going to go crazy! The lab I use is sooo boring!
Well you go in after fasting, and they take your initial blood sugar (mine was 63) then they make you drink that stuff again, and sit in the waiting room for an hour. Then draw your blood again, then wait for an hour, draw it again, wait for one more hour then draw it a last time and they let you leave. Then you just have to wait for your results. My doctors office wouldnt test in between testing i dont know why, but maybe yours well. I don't think my office was able to give me real results thats why they have to send it to the lab.
Tell me about the test, what's it like?
thanks! I researched a lot about GD and found out its all hormones and nothing to do with food that you eat. that made me feel better, but still gets you bummed out you know. Im doing better for sure, but sometimes i just cry about things. I guess i dont see how that is a bad thing?
Good luck on yours! I hope that i found out before friday so i'll let you know. And then we will wait for yours!
Heyyy girl! Cheer up! My Dr told me today that to diagnose Gestational Diabetes, you need to get 2 out of 4 abnormal results, so , try to think positive!
Im taking my test on friday, I got c157 on my 1 hour so Im worse than you, but still, Im positive that things will turn out great for both!
Wish you teh best, keep me updated!
thanks ladies, i really dont know what i do without the support from the people on here. It has gotten me through the rough stuff. This pregnancy has just made me more emotional than i already am and so crying is my way of coping.
But when i hear from you then it makes me put things in perspective and i feel better. So thanks again.
I will keep you posted on what they say is my new number!
I agree w. babydreams..
In fact, I coulsnt have said it better myself!
Good luck and keep us posted!
((hugs!))
If you do have it, it's absolutely not your fault or anything you did. Very healthy, normal weight women get GB during pregnancy... and many women who are unhealthy and eat a ton of sugar don't get it. Theres just no telling who will and who won't. Don't feel bad or be hard on yourself; it's just a hurdle to jump, and there will be more along the way. You can jump this one. A close friend of mine had it, and she just had to test her blood sugar w/a glucose meter (I had to do that for awhile for something else; it's super easy and doesn't hurt. The latest meters are so cool!) and keep track of her diet, making sure she didn't overdo the sugar. She did gain a bit more weight than average, but nothing that was dangerous or anything. Her baby turned out completely healthy and her GB went away after delivery.
Getting rude/unsolicited/insensitive comments from people is one of the worst parts of being pregnant, especially when those comments come from men!! Ugh.... just try to take what people say with a grain of salt. Most of the time people don't know what to say, so they just end up saying something thoughtless instead of keeping their mouths shut like they should. Anyway, hang in there. And here's hoping you don't have GB after all! :)
