Baby Name Debate:(

So we originally picked out Mattalynn for our little girl. Well the other day I was driving and the name Mia (like Vin Diesel's sister in Fast and Furious lol) I like fell in love with it. You know how you just fall in love with your babies name? Well that's how I feel about Mia. I don't "love" the name Mattalynn. I told my husband about it and he doesnt like Mia. He wants to stick with Mattalynn. I'm trying so hard to convince him to love Mia. I don't know how to get him to agree with me lol. Which one do you ladies like?  He wants Mattalynn Nevae and I want Mia Nevae. And any ideas on how I can convince him lol

Dont get me wrong...I like Mattalynn but I just didnt like fall in love with it lol. You ladies know what I mean. I know I will love her name and once she's born it will fit her...I guess I just have to see:)

My little girls name is Emmalyn!!! Lol I didn't think anyone else would like it :P we were originally gonna do "Madelyn". I guess that's kinda like mattalynn. I like that better than mia

Mattalynn is sweet. You can use Matty as short form if you like it. My hubby picked Mia for our baby and I feel in love with it. It is such a sweet name. Good for you for letting your husband have a say. Baby is just as much his. In the end I think once you see your baby you will fall in love with whatever you name her because it will always represent her.

good for ou mamaof4410. i really believe that the man should have just as much of a say. it makes me mad since we carried them "they shouldn't" or we have more say.. they don't have the option to carry a baby (thank god.. haahah) so it's not fair to take that from them. i love the name you chose!

Oh I know lol. Our 2yr old's name is Maxamillian...we call him Max but I know when he goes to school they make them write their full name poor thing

they are both cute but I think when It come to her going to school Mia will be easier for her :) my son starts k this year and his name is Christian poor guy !!

I didn't get the name I fell in love with and neither did he. I wanted Karina and he loved Evelynn. We went back to the dressing board and now Emmalyn. We both love it and I don't know anybody with the name. You have to both love it!

@uhohstellajean...my husband DOES have the final say so. I can throw every name out there and if he doesn't like it then there's nothing I can do. Yes its our baby but he goes above and beyond to take care of us and be a wonderful father/husband. So I will ultimately name our daughter whatever he decides. Not act like a diva to get my own way.


We just finished talking and he said he really loves Mattalynn. He said kids are going to tease her and call her "mama Mia" lol. I really don't think I'm going to win this one lol. We plan on having one more baby in a few years so if its a girl Mia will be her name lol. So I guess this time around I lost lol.

Im going to be brutally honest hete and tell you straight out....you cant convince your hubby to like a name. If he doesnt like it then ur back to the drawing board. This is his baby as much as yours and you cant force him to like a name. I would sit down with him and figure out what to do and pick out new names. Maybe you can use Mia as a middle name....personally i think Mattalynn is very pretty and unique where as Mia is over used in this generation....but you cant let nobody tell you what names they prefer because there not the ones having your baby. We spent almost two years thinking of a name for boy and girl. The moment we decided to try for a baby (took us 18months) it was a long process and we webt threw a lot of names but we didnt settle on a name until we both loved the name.

For my baby, boy or girl, if I like the name my significant other has no say so. Lol but he can choose the middle name if he wants. Cause IM not gonna be calling my baby off a dumb name he picks. Like he had mentioned the other day something dumb just to be funny.. I was like no.

I like Mia, but I personally know like 4-5 of them. It's SO common here. I love Mattalyn. Had it not been my nieces name, I def. would've used it. I love it!
