M/C

Well ladies I'm finally going to see a specialist re: repeat m/c I'm really nervous and not sure what to expect. Can anyone tell me if they've seen a specialist and what the first thing they had me doing? Just scared and would like a little info.

As horrible as it sounds its comforting to read stories about people who have been through the same experiences. I have a 7 yr old son, no problems getting pregnant at all in fact he was a total shock! we decided to wait a while b4 trying again but things didn't happen so fast 2nd time round. I had a m/c in Nov 06, 1 in June 07, Dec 07, March 08 & another 2day Nov 25th! they all seem to occur around the same time I just can't get passed the 8 week mark! all my tests have come back fine except my protein s so I take aspirin every day.  The M/C clinic havent even checked my husband since I obviously have no problem getting pregnant but just can't seem to keep it! I have to go back to my dr on Thursday as he wanted to check my HCG levels.  I don't think there's any point in going back to him any sooner, its not like I'm new to this and the way I'm bleeding there won't be anything left by then.
Does anyone know of anything else they could give me or anything I should get tested for?
I just feel like a complete & utter failure. My husband is an angel but he doesn't understnd how angry I feel!!  I'm stuck at work today & really don't want to be here....I just want to go back to bed & wake up when its all over!!!

i was in the same boat as you, got pregnant but could not hold them.  i had 2 MC's in 5 months.

i went to a fertility specialist for re-current pregnancy loss anf they ran a bunch of test.

I did not have to wait three months cause luckily things fell into place.  You and hubby start off with bloodwork, they prob won;t ask for a spem specimen since you are getting pregnant, mine did not.  they you go for bloodwork on the 3rd day of your period, you might have to wait a month if you literally just ended your period (i luckly got mine the next week after my 1st appouintment so things went fast.)  you then have a hysteroscopy after i think 7-10 from your period, which is just a camera that they put up there to make sure you have no polps, scar tissue or abnormal shaped uterus.
All my tests came back fine within a month and the doctor gave us the go ahead to start TTC ASAP but did put me on a daily baby aspirin and progesterone supps just in case.  he thought that unfortunately i had 2 for no reason at all which he said is very common.

I hope this helped you a little.  you can ask me any other questions you would like:)
By the way, we even had tests ran on the tissues from the d and c and they were normal too.

Hi, I just finished up my work-up with RE after my second m/c.  The first thing was blood work for insulin resistance, clotting factors, infectious diseases, autoimmune difficiencies, chromosomal work-up on DH and me.  No semen analysis for DH since we don't have a problem getting pregnant, just staying pregnant.  All came back normal except my insulin was a little high, so I'm on some meds for that.  RE gave us the go ahead to try again May/June (3 month wait).  And said that I'll stay with him for 1st trimester and then transfer back to my OB.  I wish you luck!

I had an appt with a specialist after two miscarriages (and a freak out in my dr's office) - the first appt was more of a history taking session where the new dr asked a bunch of questions.  He basically ordered a bunch of tests (semen analysis for my DH, HSG for me and blood work for both of us).  We were told not to try for at least three months - until the testing could be completed and they'd get the results.

They found a blood issue with me - and I'm now 34 weeks pregnant.  I wish you (and everyone else) success!

I haven't been to one, but have an appointment with one this week!  So, I am just as curious and anxious as you are.  Not too sure what your history has been with pregnancy... but keep me posted on what your Specialist says.  It will be interesting to see if they try similiar testing and medications.  GOOD LUCK!
