What if?

Can a vaginal ultrasound miss a four to five month pregnancy in a very heavy patient?

I feel something moving all the time whereas it's never happened before except for when I was pregnant with my son and my stomach is distended.

I'm very confused.

Alright. I called both Gynecologists and according to them I'm plain demented.
At five or even four months it's impossible to miss a baby with a trans-vaginal ultrasound, There would at least been able to see the gestational sac.
In casi-all pregnant women you can see SOMETHING at eight weeks and hear by twelve.
Maybe it's just gas...

You welcome! They CAN do bloodwork to test hormones to see if that is the culprit.

have you had any hormonal symptoms like moodiness, night sweats or hot flashes?  It could be earl menopause?  I really wish I had better suggestions for you,

I was not as big and first time I knew immediately. I was sick and had sore breasts, took a home pregnancy test and it showed up.
This time around I've gained a great deal of weight. I'm very overweight.
Thing is I saw photos of my ovaries and my uterus last month and according to the reports all is normal.
I just don't get it.

I don't really have any other advice for you. It's either something else going on, you are in fact pregnant and for whatever reason it's not showing up or it's a hysterical pregnancy.  When you posted you said "a very heavy patient"  do you mean a little overweight, very overweight or obese?  I'm considered overweight by more than just a little but have never had a problem with any of my pregnancies.  Did they have trouble diagnosing your first pregnancy?  Did you weigh the same then?

I saw two gynecologists.

One in April and had a vaginal and pelvic ultrasound done and he saw nothing.
A month later I saw another and both the vaginal and ultrasound checks were done and still nothing.

I haven't had a period  in five months.

Have you already had the ultrasound or were you planning to get one?  A Cervical check can also give a good indication of the presence of a pregnancy.  If you did have an ultrasound and it was in a docs office you might request one at the hospital with a more sensitive machine or try a vaginal ultrasound if what you had was abdominal

I'm sure it could be POSSIBLE but it's not likely.  Have you had a cervical check?  What about blood and urine pregnancy tests?  Are you positive it's not gas bubbles you are feeling?
