I did lose weight but like lilpollywog said...try to keep your calories up while you are breastfeeding. I struggled to eat enough and would get dizzy a lot. Also, if you don't eat well your milk supply suffers. Drink LOTS of water!
After my first I breast fed and lost a bunch of weight, however after you stop you have to adjust your diet and exercise. :-)
Losing weight is not a reason to breastfeed. Yes it helps your utetus contract and get back to normal faster. But you should be takong in more calories than normal while breastfeeding so it's not really meant to be used for weightloss. Do some research on it. I think Selma Hayak brought up very good points about this when she was nursing her baby. Check it out.

breastfeeding is a wonderful way to help loose weight, once bub is here everytime you put baby to breast make sure you have a full glass of water, and eating healthily as well will help :)
