When I had my sweep it was painful for me but everyone is different. No I didn't go into labor right away, I hear some people do. I had my sweep on Friday the 13th and I had to jump start my own labor I delivered on fathers day.

Is that when they check for dilation? ?? Cause when I was having contractions they insert a finger up in there and it hurt like hell and got really bad cramps for it. I was already contracting so idk  about going into labor part.
