Monster in law issues

so I'm 33 weeks but I'm measuring two weeks ahead consistently and it was confirmed at my ultrasound so they changed my due date to may 6th instead of may 20th. The issue is, currently my significant other is at rehab in reno , (I'm in Vegas), for some drug issues and his 90 days sober, which is the day he was originally going to leave, is may 8th, but I need him to come back May 1st. She is also still breach so I could possibly be having a csection. I told him everything and he is 100% in for coming home that date because he obviously wants to be there for the birth of his daughter, and I want him there, but everytime I bring it up to him mom she completely ignores the subject. I don't want to have to spend $200+ on a plane ticket for him to come home all by myself and she la not even helping at all with the babyshower, I just feel like she doesn't care at all about me or her first granddaughter. I don't know what I should do. Regardless of her approval he is coming home the 1st it's just stressful on me to be spending all that money without any help from her. Ugh :(

His mother is very childish, she's the type of person who was so I love with their high school years that that's the type of person they stay as. She's constantly gossiping about me and trying to make me feel like ****. Everytime I've seen her since his going to rehab all she wants to do is talk about how messed up he is and how embarrassed and stupid I must feel. I just wish she would take this more seriously an help me out , but I can't force her, all she's doing is ruining her relationship with her granddaughters and with me. My SO keeps telling me to work on the relationship with her and her husband but I try and this is what I get in return .

I wonder if the mother of an addict has been burned enough over the years that she withdraws help?  I don't know the circumstances but sometimes there is a long history between a so who has made wrong choices and his patents.  The relationship can be damaged.  She may also believe Vegas is dangerous to his sobriety and be fearful of his returning to it.  I am glad your partner is getting clean--  I am sure it has been hard on you.  I would try to reach out to her as two women that live your partner and want the best for him without financial expectations.  I would guess she'll eventually soften.  It ' shard and you are in a hard spot.  I hope very much it gets easier hon. Hang in there.

I think you should definitely ask straight forward to get a direct answer. Make sure you do it with understanding  because I don't think its tat she doesn't care.she probably just wants to make sure he is clean and ready for it all. Again she is a mom too and now a grand mother. So if she still acts that way....give her space and do what you need to do for you and your family. Yes financially that can be stressful. But for your fami ly....its well worth it.

Have you just flat out asked her "hey are you going to help me out so your son can be here for the birth of his child or do i need to start making other arrangements?"
