How accurate could sex guess be at 13 weeks??!!

I had a Nuchal scan on Thursday at 13 weeks, was amazing, so detailed, got to enjoy seeing my baby from every angle and hearing the heart beat. loved every moment ...my husband was also there and he just looked amazed!.The result from the Nuchal scan turned to be all normal and low risk. Thanks god for that. I also asked  the technician whether she could guess the sex of the baby and she said " its only a guess, it could be a little boy" she said is not definite as its still too early to know the sex for sure. I am or was very sure I was having a girl, now I am confused and not sure which one...  my hubby wants a little boy but truly i don't care about the sex although its nice to know as long as it is a healthy baby ... So whats the percentage for the technician guess to be correct? is is correct that usually they hardly mistake boys but can mistake girls at this early stage? I am speaking to my baby as I speak to a little girl and my hubby as a little boy!

At this time in the pregnancy the parts are just starting to show, So I would say its a good guess. I wouldnt go out and buy all boy things just let. Congrats!

i agree w/ mama!  i was told at 13wks 6days that they thought i was having a boy and they did the infrared thing to make sure they wren't just seeing the cord between his legs...  and it ends up they were right!!!  i hope you end up getting the same answer at your 18-20wk u/s!!!  good luck!

Usually if the tech guesses boy its because they see something, sometimes the penis is mistaken for the umblical cord. It really depends on how experienced they are. But I am sure you will have a definate answer soon. I had my nuch test at 13 weeks and had to re do because baby was doing a handstand. One week later at 14 weeks the tech slipped and kept saying she. Sure enough at 18 weeks it was confirmed at 99.9% girl.

i would think they are right my DH's cousin and his GF are having a lil one soon and when i first saw her she was only 4 months and they had already said girl and its been right on its still a girl

Still a 50/50 chance it could be either. But don't set your sights high for a little girl. 13 weeks is the earliest you CAN determine gender but in a few more weeks it'll be a little more accurate as the genitals for both genders are similar early on.

I think 13 weeks is too early to give you an accurate guess. With that said, she could be right of course, I mean, there's only 2 things that baby could have, a penis or a vagina. If you can get another ultrasound around 18-20 weeks I would say that's a perfect time to find out. Good luck to you...

thanks everyone, it could be any I guess... our local hospital has a policy not to tell the baby's gender! no matter how many weeks. There a private scan place locally offering a gender scan at 16 onwards, so I guess I will book one for when I am 16/17 weeks to know for sure, hope it is going to be accurate!
