thanks for the input everyone! i appreciate all the help!
This is my second pregnancy and I am feeling more discomfort and stretching than what I remember with my first. I feel exactly the way you've described, and I'm at 23 weeks this week. I spent the entire last week feeling so sore and uncomfortable, as if I had a rock in my stomach because it's that stretched and hard from the extreme growth the baby is most likely going through right now. For the last couple of weeks, it has hurt to bend down or bend over to do something like tie my shoes or pick up something I dropped.
Sleeping...I haven't really done that for about two months now! I'm too uncomfortable.
There's not much you can do about it. During the times I feel the worst, I take some Tylenol, soak in a warm bath, and rub some lotion or cocoa butter on my belly. Those things don't really take away the pain and stretching feelings, but they do help to relax and soothe you a little bit--Tylenol usually takes the edge off for a little while.
Have dh put lots and lots of lotion on your belly. It won't necessarily help with the stretching pains, but is suuuuuuuuure feels good. And don't even tell dh why - just tell him the doctor said to put lotion on the belly to help with the pain, wink, wink.
Actually, the lotion does help with the itching that kicks in as the belly stretches - - at least that helped me a little bit.
I"m 26 pregnant and this is my second pregnancy and I've been having lots of those lately.....with DS, It think it happened sooner (because my uterus had never had to expand like that before), but I'm having tons of discomfort now. Mostly all at the top of my belly. I'm petite and don't have a lot of room to begin with.....seriously, I know from experience that things are going to get WAY bigger, but I don't know where it's going to go! ;-)
I too have a sore belly these days and it is getting bigger every week... i do feel the same as you said.. like a balloon and some pressure in the belly.. sleeping is not comfortable..
Hiya, yeah I had exactly the same thing had me up in agony one night and ended going to the maternity ward the next morning but like nickie said it will get worse before it gets better, I think for me once I'd reached about 28 weeks it really lessend off I think my body started getting the hang of it lol hope that helps you to worry a little less. xxx
Its pain in the belly! LOL!
haha, thanks nickie! well, im glad to know u think its stretching as well and that it can hurt cuz i was a bit worried!
Ah you are going through just the beginning of the growing pains. You are right, that is what it is! Every women is different and it all starts at different times and when I was pregnant with my first I had a torn ligament around my 5.5 month mark and my doctor told me there was nothing I could do for it except deliver the baby and let my body heal itself. It will probably get worse before it gets better. Just wait til your lil one is kicking and squirming around (that's how mine got torn) and its uncomfortable but wonderful all at the same time!
