struggling with stretching and growing pains

hi ladies, i know im just full of questions all the time! but ive never done this before lol! okay, so the other night i had super bad like little sharp cramping pains that hurt so bad i couldnt even get up off the couch! i really thought i was going to miscarry or something...but i never bled at all not even one bit. Then the next day when i woke up it didnt hurt anymore and i got dressed and DF was like "whoa, when did u get so pregnant looking?" and i looked down and noticed my bump had popped up quite a bit outta nowhere...literally over night! so then we were both thinking that musta been what the pain was? stretching and growing pains? also at night ive been having a really sore belly ...it just feels super tight like a lot of pressure and i cant get comfortable in bed. is there anything i can do to help with the stretching? i feel like a balloon being blown up! is this because its my first pregnancy and my tummys never been stretched before? kinda freaks me out! so if any of you can remember back to ur first pregs and if u had some pain or problems with this it would really help me to ease my mind. im sure the baby is fine cuz i havent had any bleeding my whole pregnancy but...im uncomfortable.

This is my second pregnancy and I am feeling more discomfort and stretching than what I remember with my first. I feel exactly the way you've described, and I'm at 23 weeks this week. I spent the entire last week feeling so sore and uncomfortable, as if I had a rock in my stomach because it's that stretched and hard from the extreme growth the baby is most likely going through right now. For the last couple of weeks, it has hurt to bend down or bend over to do something like tie my shoes or pick up something I dropped.
Sleeping...I haven't really done that for about two months now! I'm too uncomfortable.

There's not much you can do about it. During the times I feel the worst, I take some Tylenol, soak in a warm bath, and rub some lotion or cocoa butter on my belly. Those things don't really take away the pain and stretching feelings, but they do help to relax and soothe you a little bit--Tylenol usually takes the edge off for a little while.

Have dh put lots and lots of lotion on your belly.  It won't necessarily help with the stretching pains, but is suuuuuuuuure feels good.  And don't even tell dh why - just tell him the doctor said to put lotion on the belly to help with the pain, wink, wink.

Actually, the lotion does help with the itching that kicks in as the belly stretches - - at least that helped me a little bit.

I"m 26 pregnant and this is my second pregnancy and I've been having lots of those lately.....with DS, It think it happened sooner (because my uterus had never had to expand like that before), but I'm having tons of discomfort now.  Mostly all at the top of my belly.  I'm petite and don't have a lot of room to begin with.....seriously, I know from experience that things are going to get WAY bigger, but I don't know where it's going to go! ;-)

Ah you are going through just the beginning of the growing pains. You are right, that is what it is! Every women is different and it all starts at different times and when I was pregnant with my first I had a torn ligament around my 5.5 month mark and my doctor told me there was nothing I could do for it except deliver the baby and let my body heal itself. It will probably get worse before it gets better. Just wait til your lil one is kicking and squirming around (that's how mine got torn) and its uncomfortable but wonderful all at the same time!
