I'm not sure how that would have been aimed at you just saying. In your case it was a good thing you did because things could have ultimately been worse for you. I firmly believe you should wait on your baby's terms but I will have to agree that in some cases it is good to induce. Such as yours.
I feel like your commemt was aimed at me... Rude. I agree that people should wait as long as possible to be induced but don't be so quick to judge in some cases like mine the baby should have been born before she was. I was given the option to induce without a medical reason yes I chose to because ultimately I was extremely uncomfortable but in my case I was that way because my daughter was ready and I was told by both my ob and her pediatrician that she wouldn't have had to be in nicu if I had had her a couple of weeks before I did.
Fe411fe! I feel the same way! These girls think that just cuz they are considered full term that the baby is ready, like you said they are not ! I wish girls would understand instead Of getting defensive drives me crazy
My ob wouldn't induce until 39 weeks I got induced and chose to do so and good thing I did. My daughter had to go to nicu because she stayed in me too long so if I had have chose to go longer then my labor would have been longer and my daughter would have been kept in nicu for longer than a few hours so in some cases baby doesn't come even when they are completely ready.
Btw that is a policy at my facility that I go to I'm not sure about if others do that.
My midwife told me today that unless it is medically necessary or 2 weeks over your due date they will not do inductions. I agree 100% there is a reason your pregnancy is 40 weeks long. Because the baby isn't 100% developed until the 39th week and say what you want tell me I'm wrong all you want but I'm a nursing student wanting to do obstetrics so I need to know everything about pregnancy. So I know for a fact that I am right but I'm sure people will try and argue with me. Yes the baby is considered full term at 36 weeks but there is a lot of development with the baby's head and face in the next 3 weeks that to most people seem minor but we have to dissect every little aspect of every week in class and it is more significant than you think. I hate seeing those posts that say "what can I do to induce labor at home" or "I can't wait to see my lo trying to induce!" Why rush your child? They will come when they are ready! They are precious little angels and I want my baby to be as perfect as it can be so I could never imagine attempting to push my child out of its safe haven any earlier than it wants to leave.
Alls i can say is its my body too and if the baby is healthy and at 37 weeks gestation i doint see the problem
Yea you will be 40wks but some people be like 35 or 37wks that's just crazy
Feel the same I'm not going to try to induce labor or anything . My daughter needs her time to cook.
Well I'm being induce friday because iv been have rib pains to the point I cant eat breathe sleep or walk or sit without it hurting.... n I agree with u but my rib pain got me crying like a baby n I'm not being dramatic.... but ima be 40 weeks when I get induced this Friday.....
Love your post and agree with you 100%!! It makes me sad to see so many unnecessary inductions. But to each her own I guess
