like everyone said your whole stomach will get real tight, then loosen up, its painful. with my son i went to the hospital 3 times and got sent home. i had contractions for a week straight until the one night i couldnt sleep. every 3 minutes it would cramp really bad, and i was layin in bed home alone (my fiance worked 2 jobs at the time and he was delivering the news paper overnight so couldnt come home) screaming and crying. i couldnt sleep and no position made it better. u know its the real thing and not the braxton hicks when they get to the point that you cannot talk while u are having one. u cant focus on anything but the pain. its better to stay home til they get closer together and u r sure its the real thing. they cant do anything in the hospital for u if u get there too early. so might as well be in the beginning of labor in the comfort of ur own home rather than stupid hospital. i had my son like 4 hours after i got to the hospital, some ppl spend 24 hours or so in hospital...
Thanks ladies !! N im defo going to keep moving during the contractions and keep my mind of things.. My aunty went to ikea when she started labour lol
Try to walk while your in labor, they are easier to bear if you can move around. Mind over matter, the pain doesn't last forever and soon you will have a baby in your arms. Good luck!
It feels like tightening ur stomach & it's hard to breath. Especially if ur bladder is full...But if u change position it will dissapear. Good luck:)
Its like period cramps times a million...but they come in waves...its weird...lol
My belly would get extremely hard followed by a massive cramp that started low near my pelvic bone. The pain would migrate up to the top of my stomach, then go back down again. By the time it had reached the bottom again my belly had loosened up and everything seemed back to normal.
aww thanks girls !! =] i feel like i have no idea what to look out for im still a few weeks away but i want to be prepared lol.. im sure when it haapens i will no eh lol!!
they're abit hard to describe apart from the fact tht they hurt, but if you can imagine them as an oven door (weird I know) at the start its like you opening your oven door, the further open you pull it the hotter/painful it gets until its all the way open (peak of contraction), then it slowly gets closed again and the pain slowly eases off, its quite good when your right in the middle of them to visualise them like this as it helps to focus on something while they're happening, and you can then tell when they're going to start to ease off
Mine feel like severe menstrual cramps with lots of back pressure... my tummy also gets really hard/tight.
