First pregnancy

I quit taking the pill in January of 06.  On October 12th 2007, I found out that I was pregnant  but miscarried it on the 15th. I missed a period in November. My period usually comes on the ninth but last month it came on the 4th. Since the miscarriage we have tried a second time. This month it came today. Could the miscarriage have my hormones all out of wack? Could it be that we are trying again to soon.

Other ways of determing ovulation/fertility include using Ovulation Predictor Kits (cost money and not always easy to read).

BBT (Basal Body Temping) which I know nothing about. But you can ask other women here about it.

You can use mymonthlycycles.com or www.fertilityfriend.com to help you track your CM or BBT so it is easier to read and see when you are fertile.

The way I determine ovulation is CM (cervical mucous). Have you ever noticed a sort of "snot" when you wipe sometimes? Sorry if that is gross, but CM is very important for getting pregnant. It helps sperm survive the harsh environment of the uterus.

Anyway, after a period, you will be dry (no mucous). This means you are not fertile and cannot conceive at this time. The cervix is closed tight, sperm cannot pentrate it.

As you near ovulation, the cervix softens and you will notice CM and it can range in color and consistency. When you ovulate the CM becomes CLEAR (like raw egg whites) and stretches to an inch or more (some women describe it as watery).

You will definitely know you are fertile and ovulating when you wipe and it feels SLICK and slippery.

Some women do not have mucous or have very little. I've heard of some women checking internally but I do not know about that. There are some NATURAL, safe pills you can take to increase the production of mucous. Ovulex is one.

Overview:
Dry after period=not fertile
Mucous begins to show=probability of becoming pregnant
CM that is clear and stretchy=OVULATION
Dry after ovulation=not fertile

When you see CM, begin having sex every other day.

I got pregnant two months after my m/c. You're not trying too soon, but your cycles are probably out of whack. My periods after birth/miscarriage were crazy. It'll take time to get regular again.

Figuring out when you ovulate will be more effective in getting pregnant. You can't rely on what your cycles used to be, so if you want some info on ovulation, let us ladies know! Everyone has some advice to give.
