no. when i was in hospital with bleeding earlier in this pregnancy, i was talkin to a young woman who's waters had broken at 24 weeks. she was then 27 weeks and the drs told her the longer baby stayed in there the better.
I thought if water breaks than you have to have the baby out?
ur babys lungs will be developed now, if u have him now things should all be ok!
one of the girls from our forum had her baby a few wks ago at 32wks and he is fine :)
i hope everything goes well for u darl
my water broke when i was 34 weeks (unfortunately they never gave me the steroid shot but THANKFULLY my boys lungs were fully developed and only need the little oxygen tube in their noses for a few hours just to help them breath a bit). my contractions would come and go but were not constant. i was 7 cm dialated and after i had been in labor for 8 hours they gave me this shot (i can't remember what it was) to "induce" labor (that's how the nurse put it) so that the contractions would start and i could deliver. thankfully that worked and within 10 minutes they were taking me to the or because brett michael was on his way out. lol.
how long has it been since your water broke? i know after a few hours they start to worry about the amniotic fluid level. i guess if there isn't any and they baby/ies arn't born it can cause problems. my ob and the nurses didn't go into a lot of detail with me about it...but they did stress that the boys had to be born naturally very soon or else they were going to do a c section on me. i'm just glad that shot worked and they decided to come on out.
I'm sorry to hear you are having so many issues...Are they keeping you in the hospital since your water has broken?? I'm sure that the dr.s are doing what they feel is best for you and baby, but be sure to ask them questions if you are unsure or feel uncomfortable with anything they are doing!! Please be sure to update and i wish you the best!!
