RARE FALSE POSITIVES!!!!!!!!!

I dont know how many members i have heard say that false positives are rare and i dont know how many sites i have gone to that say they are rare.......i just cant put my finger on it....i know what evap lines are but they shouldn't show up as quickly as my lines have shown up and if they are so rare then why do i keep getting them???????? this is frustrating me because i dont know why i keep getting them...i have had this going on for many years now and i already have a son so if there was something wrong then why wouldn't the docs have noticed it when i was preggo with DS?????? UUUGGGHHH!!! can someone tell me what would cause so many false positives??? i have tried so many times to post in docs forum but it is always full!!!!!!!!

I would definately go the same day you get a BFP. All you need is that paper in your hands to get pregnancy medicaid. Then maybe it will cover any other tests you need. Good luck! I was without health insurance for most of my life, except pregnancy medicaid. I just recently went to work for my FIL in June 07 and he provides our health ins.

lol...i understood what you meant...last time i went to the health clinic i got a neg. but it was 2 days after my bfp's at home and then bled the day after the test at the clininc...maybe i should go the same day that i get the bfp next time!

From what I've experienced, evap lines are usually like light grey (only way I know how to describe) so it sounds like you are having +hpt. You should definately see a Dr to get to the bottom of things. You might try a state hospital or clinic. Or if you get another BFP go to one of those pregnancy clinics and re-test. If it's positive there they can right you a letter to take to the Dept of Human Serv. (could be called something else in your state) and apply for pregnancy Medicaid. Then all of your testing would be paid for. Even if you keep having the same issues you are now, maybe they can find out why. Not sure if that will help, but it's worth a shot.

loismwallace----the lines were pinkish/purple in color...and also showed up as quickly as the control line...idk if that is evap or not?????

everything4 & jen-----i have an appt. on May 6th, but unfortunatly i dont have the cash to pay for any of the testing and i explained my situation to MedHelp's Dr. Downing and he said it could have been what is called a spontaneious abortion (where the body aborts due to recognizing abnormalities in the fetus)

I agree with evthing4reason.  I think you may be getting pregnant (especially those that come with a heavy AF flow) and then having chemical pregnancies.  I have had two and gotten BFPs followed by heavy AF sometimes with small clots (sorry TMI).

I would have them check your progesterone level at 7dpo which is usually right around cd21 on a 28 day cycle.  I would recommend seeing an RE (reproductive endocrinologist) and not just a regular MD or OB/GYN.

If I'm not mistaken, a evaporated line has not color to it, where an actual positive line would be the same color as the test window line. I think a lot of people see an evap line when they should be looking for the colored line.

Wow......I wish I knew what was causing this.  I know you must be frustrated!!!

I know Walgreens now makes a digital test.  I don't know how well they work, but with my last baby, I found out I was pregnant with a Walgreens brand regular test, so the regular one was accurate for me.  These are probably less expensive than the other brands.

I wish you the best of luck and I am sorry you are going through this.

There has been rantings all over the net about clearblue at the mo, apparently some bad batches have been produced, i would test with one that says either yes or no

linzola--no i mainly used dollar store brand and my SIL bought 2 value packs of the CLEAR BLUE so after she got her BFP she gave the rest to me, so i could test with them, i had already had 2 bfp's and 2 clear blues read error, then got a negative a few days later, last month 2 bfp's error on clear blue, and then negative blood! i never meantion the clear blues on any of my posts because they were errors!

onlyme27-- i was supposed to start AF on 20th, well 22nd rolled around and no AF so i bought an ept and it came out a BFP......in the middle of the night i woke up with very bad pains by morning (23rd) i was bleeding very heavily and it was very painful.....heavy bleeding for 1 1/2 days then spotting for 2 days.......this past jan. i had AF the 6th-10th(normal) on the 20th i took a test and it was a bfp...21st another bfp....23rd had a bfn.....and then had AF agian on the 28th of jan. same thing happened in march with 2 bfp's (28th-30th) and a few days later got a negative blood test...it seems to always happen around the end of the month everytime....why i have no clue.
luv2bmommy--i usually buy the cheapies, but lately they have all been BFP'S so im gonna start buying the more expensive ones......when i was 15 i missed my period for almost 5 months and the doc told me that constipation could have caused it and she even did a pee tests because my mom found out that i had just started having sex with my DH (bf at the time) it was negative! but since then  i haven't had much problems with late AF until these last few months but i have been gettin faint bfp's since i was 16!!!

I am assuming that you have oly used the Clear Blue Easy Digital? I would get a First Response Digital. If you go to their website they have a $2.00 off cupon that you can print. I would think if there was something they would have determined that when you were pregnant with your son. Good Luck

i took two of those things one time and they both turned out saying PREGNANT and then started AF two days later and so i freaked and went to the hospital where they did a blood test and it said negative. !!! i wont use them anymore, ive had my best luck with the cheapies from dollar store! two lines or one...
anyway ive read about false positives yeah they are rare because your body has to make that hcg and its only there in certain circumstances, one being of course pregnancy. and then the other has to do with cysts, sometimes your body mistakes these for a pregnancy and starts making that hormone. DONT mark my words on this its just something ive read somewhere because i was wondering why my two came out BFP. i will have an ultrasound soon and see if it is cysts. of course sometimes hpts just **** out..lol

Try one of those HPT that actually say yes or no.  I can't think who makes them, but I have seen the commercial.  That way there are no evap lines to see or not see
