I didnt know mothballs were harmful to pregnant women. I went out into our storage building the other day for about 15 minutes and we have mothballs in there for snakes. It was a strong smell, do yall think we are ok? Goodness one more thing to worry about.
Nalina, I really hope you get a checkup and everything is ok.
God can bring us through anything!
Can u tell me, which specialist I should consultant to take a full check up?
I agree with the other comments left. I also want to state that women who eat or smell things that are otherwise unnatural to consume (such as dirt, sponges, cleaners, etc.) may have some sort of vitamin or mineral deficiency.
Petrol (gasoline) contains a slew of toxic and volatile compounds that are known to cause birth defects, and can even damage ones eggs. So yes, its possible that once you stop inhaling these fumes that there will be long term consequences.
Mothballs (naphthalene) can cause problems in a pregnant women but is unlikely to have any long term effect on future pregnancies.
Both of these agents pose serious health risks to you - cancer is certainly one of them.
No.. am not ready to put my life in trouble anymore.. am really not addicted and i ve stopped it almost before 3 weeks..
Thanks for ur suggestion
Well based on the info you provided, it could cause birth defects in a child if you conceive and I'm pretty sure it could cause serious health concerns for yourself as well. The best thing you can do is contact your healthcare provider and schedule an appt to get all your questions answered and assess any damage you may have caused already. Good luck.
PS
Any time someone says "I'm not addicted but do it often" chances are they have a more serious problem than they're willing to accept. First step to rehabilitation is admitting you have a problem.
