Nifedipine

My GF has been taking it since her 25th week & she's currently 35. Can she stop taking it? It's making her beyond sick. Her Dr said no & to continue use.

Maybe consult a naturapath. Debbie Leigh is a great one who deals specifically with woman's issues. Yes sometimes doctors just don't give you any or the right information. The internet is a very helpful tool in finding better options. I use it a lot.

Ok you really need to have a sit down with your doctor. They should have told you everything. Please please please consult another medical professional as well

Well with all due respect if i had a doctor that would sit down and talk to me about medication. I wouldnt have to go online and thats why i did. Told somebody that i was taking it and she looked it up and it can cause serveral things. And ALOT of people advised me not to take it anymore.

Nobody but a doctor can prescribe you anything. The internet should ONLY be used as a referencr, but never as a basis fro treatment. If you're not agreeing with what your doctor prescribed you should get another medical opinion, but again DO NOT use the internet to decide what to do or what not to.do.

I was never told about the side affects either when they gave it to me to stop contractions, I would strongly suggest finding another way. Is she experiencing labour at all? If not there should not be any reason she is still on them, even the doctors that gave it to me didn't want me on it for more than that day because of what it can do. I had a tachycardia from it. I instead use Epsom salts in a bath and that holds off labour and stops it if need be. I would suggest this to her. Also taking 600mgof mmagnesium a day and lots of water will keep labour away. Hope this helps. That drug is a nightmare, I know

Its to stop contractions. We also had looked it up and it said it could cause birth defects and other problems. Shes been taking it for awhile and now knows about the medication and what it could cause. Her doctor never told her about medication
