Could I be pregnant?

I am a 25 year old female with a history of PCOS.  My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for a few months now.  I am not taking any meds and have been off BC pills for a couple of years now.  I have "regular periods." I get them every 30-35 days.  On rare occasions I will get my period 38-42 days.  The 1st day of my last period was 9/24/10.  This past Monday I was experiencing some mild cramping as if my period was coming.  I figured I would get it the next day.  I didn't get my period the next day.  Wednesday I noticed a pink tinge when I wiped after urinating and I thought it was the start of my period.  I haven't noticed any bleeding since then.  I thought this could be implantation bleeding so I took a pregnancy test (first response) this morning and it was negative.  Could I still be pregnant but have taken the test too early?  It says it will be positive a week before a missed period and I am at 36 right now.  It is hard to tell what I week before my missed period would be due to having later periods on occasion.  Do you recommend a different test?

Those tests really mean you can try one 8 days after you ovulate. Do you know at all when you ovulated? Also, the cramping you had on Monday could be due to implantation... That would explain the blood you had on Wednesday. In that case it is still a little early for a HPT and you might get a more accurate result after the weekend. Good luck!

Sounds like you could have taken it early. I would wait a while longer or get a blood test. Good luck! I hope it all works out!
