Anybody have/had extreme tailbone pain during pregnancy?

I'm almost 25 wks and have had extreme tailbone pain for some weeks now. Some days are better than others but overall its painful. It hurts to sit down, and standing up just about kills me. All my doctor said was to take tylenol for the pain but I don't want have to take it every day.

Did it affect your labor?

I do. I thought I was just wierd. It hurts to sit and stand. If I lay on my side it still hurts. I don't have it everyday, but the closer to the 3rd trimester I get the pain gets more intense and more often. I'm 24 weeks today. I am also petite 5'1".

I've had the same pain. I've heard its a hormone that relaxes your hips  to get getting your body for child birth.  On another post her nurse told get to get a belly band which makes since to hold all those parts in place. I also just read its called sdp. I googled it and it sounds like what's going on with me.

I am having it now at 28 wks. My dr says its my body stretching and adjusting to fit the baby and for labor. Im also petite so she said thats one if the reasons  i'm really feeling the streching. She advised me to try the belly support band to relieve some of the pressure.
