HCG not going up enough

Hi I have just had an IVF cycle and a positive pregnancy outcome. There were 2 embryos transferred. An 8 cell and a 7 cell.

My first test gave an HCG result of 143 (at 14 days PO), then 4 days latter 705 then 7 days latter 1921. The dr said going from 705 to 1921 in 7 days wasn't that good. I have been told to keep in the back of my mind this may not be a viable pregnancy and I have another test next week. I have had no bleeding and only mild cramps for the whole of the pregnancy which I thought were just normal.

The only explanation that may provide me with a good outcome is if there has been a vanishing twin. What are your thoughts?

Regards
Kelly

Hi - thank you for your comments. I was kind of right. It turned out that both embryos implanted but one failed then the other failed a week or so latter.

Now to start all over....

Thanks
Kelly

Why not ask the doc for an hCG draw sooner?  I don't see why he would make you wait more than two days.

A vanishing twin is a possibility but there's no way to tell just yet.  I won't tell you to "be patient" because I'm sure, no matter what, you're gonna think about it every waking minute.  My advice to you is just continue doing everything you're supposed to be doing.  I'm sorry I'm not much help,  but I truly hope everything works out in the best way possible for you

Idk much about it other than the number should double every couple days and 704 to 1921 isn't quite doubling every two days but I would think that with it going up and having jumped to there it would be atleast slightly a good sign hope all turns out okay
