can my HUSBAND be jealous of our new baby girl?

Dee is now 3 months , and things havent been so good with hubby lately. we hardly speak and  he is impatient and we get into fights all the time?!?

ive been patient , and loving despite the lack of sleep, but i just dont feel him ...he seems to have taken a new passion lately and its his TV SHOWS ..he can stare at it , and when i speak to him, totally doesnt ven notice me or hear me for that matter ???

he goes to his karate classes, now its his life, he lives for that only!! i feel like we are not his priority..like i thought we were! anyways, the birth of my girl, has changed him and our family dynamics...

can it be jealousy???

anyone feeling the same way?

I am pregnant with our fourth child and I remember having a period of time like you described with my hubby after each one was born.  I think part of it may *be* jealously-- like an older sibling is jealous when you bring a new one home.  Hubby is use to getting all of your attention, and men are like big kids, anyway, so he may be jealous without even realizing it.  Also, you are both probably a litle stressed and sleep-deprived, so that dosn't help.  Adding a baby to the family is a HUGE change!!
Just try to ride it out, it won't last forever.  If you can get him more involved with taking care of baby, that seems to help.
Good luck!!

Hmmm...not sure if its jealousy but I think it is somewhat normal.  Not that I think it is good but I think a lot of men react the same way to major life changes...its like that book "men are from mars..." they say that men retract during times of change because they don't know how to handle it so they act in a neanderthal way and go back  into their 'cave'.  Maybe you can try to talk to him about it when he is not watching tv?  Try to find some down time where you can talk to him...Also, they say that people are more receptive to discussion when you are sitting side by side rather than eye to eye/face to face.  Perhaps you could find a moment in the car, or on the couch.

I'm not due until April and this is our first, so I have no first hand experience, just what I've seen through other people...Good luck!
