How long til my period returns? I need to hear your experiences!

hi ladies, Got a couple questions... normally I'm resourceful and find my own answers...but I would rather ask you all on this.

I'm just over 6 weeks post partum after a Csection. I'm all healed up completely for the last 2 weeks. . I missed my appointment however got looked at at about 2 weeks post partum and the doc. declared me in good health. I'm making a follow up for next week.
I bf'd for 1 month and my milk dried up. I wasn't reliable about pumping (my little man was in the NICU). we didn't wait the 6 weeks at all. We made it 9 days but have been using condoms (mostly reliably.. lol, stupid for me I KNOW. We wait til he's close then put one on.)

last week I got food poisioning and was sick for a day then got a cold/flu or something and was sick for about 3 days. Well, I have NO fever or anything and am still retching each morning and thruout the day. My legs have also begun to give me problems with pain again (due to vericose veins but i only had the issues while preggo)

How long after having a baby does it typically take to get AF?? and can the Hormones in your body affect you as if you were pregnant?
If you do get pregnant again right away can the hormones affect you more quickly if your sensative to them (I had morning sickness my WHOLE pregnancy.)

I want to start charting again, just so I know when to be extra careful since all we are using is condoms.
and am slightly worried about getting preggo A) so soon after my son who has tons of issues.. down syndrome, EHK, Heart problem...e tc., and B) after having a Csection. the last thing I need is a rupture.
and let me remind you.. I"m not some young girl with a boyfriend... I'm 21 and married 3 yrs. :)

Well, I think that if your worried about it you should test around the first week of October, if it's negative, wait 2 more weeks and test again. That's what I'm gonna do if AF doesn't come. My PPB (post partum Bleeding) went away as I BF'd but if I went more than 9hrs not bfing then I'd start bleeding again. the bleeding didn't truly stop til right before I brought my son home so probably Sep. 8-10. I tested a few days ago but if AF doesn't come by Oct. 15th I'll test again and then if it's not here by Nov. 1st I'll go get a test at the doctor and a U/s.

Im getting worried about my period too.  I had Steeley 4.5 months ago I had a long period that went from Aug 16-Sep6.  I have thick stick CM a couple weeks ago but no period as of yet.  I am scared about getting preg so soon after a csection too.  That is why I had a tubal done.  When do you think I should test?  Or should I?

Well, you know birth can change your cycles, right? It messed with my ovulation a little, I get pain sometimes I never had before, mid-cycle, and such.. Perhaps that's it!!

Good luck though. I decided to check back here to see if you had replied. And thank you! Yes I sometimes feel I should have toughed it out :( But I think I did what was best. Sorry your milk dried up, too!! 1 month isn't that bad, go us! (hahaha)

Believe me, I know how the whole pregnancy thing works, my thing is just keeping from getting pregnant right now because it's WAY too soon after my csection, however I"m not going to get on any birth control.. hubby has to decide, Condoms or a fat wife. KWIM?

I went ahead and took a $ store test yesterday and it was NEG. BFN. but it's the same test that didn't show positive til a week after my initial BFP with the EPT tests.   but I'll definitely be waiting. my cycle has ALWAYS been regular even after the depo shot for 3 yrs. the month I missed it af came back.

It took me 7-10 days and I had a period. I also had a vaginal delivery, so im not sure if it is the same with a c-section or not.

I would have HCG drawn if you haven't had AF yet.
