34 weeks 2cm, 75% dialted Trust your instinct

Last Fri, I didn't feel the baby move very much and started to get concern so I called the doc and the nurse called me back to go to the office that afternoon to make sure.  I got a NST and the baby wasn't moving much and they had to buzz her.  The best part was I was contracting every 2 mins and have already dialted to 2 cm and 75% effaced at 33.5 weeks.  My doc wasn't happy and sent me straight to the hospital and got a pre-term labor test done.  Thankfully, it came back negative.  They gave me 2 shots to stop the contractions and finally let me go home at about 9:00 o'clock.
The doc told me to trust my maternal instinct and call or go in if I feel I need to.  They told me to take it easy and be cautious.
To my fellow preggers, please don't hesitate to call if you feel something is not right.
Also, does my progress mean anything?  Early delivery?  I need to hang on 2 more weeks.

It may or may not mean you'll go early.   There really is no way to tell other than to wait.  Some women will sit at 2 or 3 cm and partially or almost fully effaced for weeks while others don't do any of that until the day they go into labor.

I do agree that pregnant women (and mothers) need to trust their instincts.  If something doesn't feel right it is ALWAYS better to be checked and find nothing significant than to wait and find something that should have been taken care of.

I totally hear that. I had been 3 cm dialated 80% effaced and -2 station for 3 weeks. My little girl was not moving much in the mornings I told my doc and she sent me for an ultrasound. They said I had a slow leak and my fluid was only at a 6 which was borderline. They ended up inducing me that same day and I had her.

Im just at 34 weeks and at 32.5 wks became 2 cm dilated and 75% effaced as well. I am still at two (will know tomorrow for sure). But you will know when you feel more change, it will be insane pressure in your groin to where you do a funny walk almost like you gotta pee but it's just cuz if you move your legs too much you will be in grief from the pain. Didn't your doctor put you on strict bedrest? That's what I'm on right now. A pain in the *** but it will be the best solution to keep me from dilating. Also, there's a medcine they have me on since they really dont like giving their patients terbutalin anymore. It's called nifedipine(sp). It's been working well for me. I too had taken the fetal fibronectin test two times and both turned out to be positive though. So the fact that your's is negative is actually a good thing, you can more than likely hold out more than those two weeks. My daughter tried to be an early bird as well for the last 10 weeks of my pregnancy, but I stayed at 2 cm from 33 wks with her till 38 and jumped up to 4 out of the blue. lol. Was an EASY labor, too! Good luck and I hope you do hold out!
