Trouble sleeping....

I'm only 6 weeks but I have not been able to sleep longer than 5-6 hours every night. I will go to be at 9 and wake up about 2 and can't go back to sleep. Then about 4 hours later i get really tired and want a nap. Is this normal?

For me the insomnia comes and goes but is mainly in the begining and then it got really bad at the end... im really hoping that doesnt happen this round... fingers crossed! last time at the end i would honestly sleep maybe 45 min tops at a time and then lay there awake for a good hour and a half to 2 hours... it really sucked! i remember saying it would be impossible for me to get less sleep once baby arrived and i was right! so thats pretty bad when you sleep better with a new born! lol but anyway between insomnia and peeing pregnancy can be pretty rough on a girls sleep!

I didn't sleep much at that point either and it made me so mad because I was really tired but once I got up to pee it was all over I wouldn't go back to sleep... I've heard it prepares you for being up in the middle of the night with baby...thank goodness I'm able to sleep thru the night now so it will get better

Thanks for the advice! I'll have to try that! I normally sleep 8-9 hours so this is really throwing me off!

Im 8wks+6 and I struggled to sleep a couple of weeks ago and didnt sleep any longer than two hours at a time. When I woke it took ages for me to drift again. This is my second pregnancy and had no trouble with my first. Ive finally started sleeping longer now which is great. The tiredness you feel is completely normal but if you feel that not being able to sleep properly is getting too much for you its always best to talk to your doctor to see if he can help you in anyway. I found that baths with lavender bubble bath helped before bed (make sure the water isnt too hot to make you dehydrate). Good luck :-)
