Positive pregnancy test

I had a blood test done at 12DPO, I am now 14DPO the receptionist just said that all the doctor wrote was that the test was equlivant and he wants me to test in 3 more days, but I couldn't wait and I tested today it was positive, my period is due tomorrow so happy to get a positive before it was missed. I will be seeing my doctor after the weekend, but just wondering when do you have your first hospital appointment and also is it 3mths before the risk of miscarrage lowers?

i see the line!!! congrats on the BFP....

the risk of miscarriage starts to lower after the first trimester is what they say...try not to worry about that...although i had 2 mc's and im 25 weeks and still worry about another one...much easier said then done

every doc is different as to when they schedule your first appt...typically around 7-8 weeks they do a dating scan but honestly every single doc has a different protocol...just ask the doc at your next appt for bloodwork

congrats again

Risk of miscarriage lowers after about 12 weeks. Congrats on that positive =) My Dr's office wont see you until 12 weeks but now I am high risk so they will see me sooner. All office are different. I would try to find somewhere that will see you around 6 weeks.

The first trimester is when they say you have the highest risk of miscarriage. As far as your first appointment, that really depends on your doctor. I just got back stateside from an Army base in Korea where they don't see pregnant women before 12 weeks unless something is medically wrong. With my son I was with a civilian doctor in Arizona and I got seen at just over 7 weeks. A friend of mine wasn't seen for her pregnancy in Utah until 12 weeks. I think it's because the chance of miscarriage, so they don't want to see you until you're further along.
