Pregnancy after mirena

I normally start my period at the end of each month, but I had the Mirena IUD removed on 9/15/08. I had a period 9/17-9/20  I am wondering if there should be a fertile time inbetween this period that I believe was triggered by the removal, and my normal scheduled period at the end of the month?  I also want to know why the Mirena removal makes a period come on?

I had the Mirena for 18 months and only went without periods for the first 5 during which time I was still nursing my now, 21-month old daughter.  I have been having regular 1x/month periods for about a year.  That's why I was suprised to have an early one 2 days after having the Mirena removed.

Its hormonal so yes you should be ovulating like normal. I think the reason it makes a period come on is because it suppresses periods for so long.
