Pregnancy Dreams

I feel SO silly asking, but has anyone had any dreams/premonitions that have come true since their pregnancy?  I'm 8Wks with twins, but I already have complications.  The night before I knew about my probable miscarriage, I had a dream I woke-up and there was blood everywhere.  Later that day, I began to bleed.  The doc said only one heartbeat was detected, however, it was very slow:  We weren't given much hope, despite me still feeling VERY much pregnant.

Since then, I've had twp dreams of us having a baby boy.  What's going on??  Is this some type of rude game my mind is playing on me??  It's like having contradicting information!  We have another transvaginal ultrasound tomorrow.

I wanted to thank you all for replying to my question about dreams/premonitions.  We returned to the doctor today for the second transvaginal, which indicated no heartbeat for either fetus.  I feel so...emotionally drained!

My last pregnancy 6mo ago also ended in a miscarriage at 9wks.  Oddly enough, I also had a bad dream about that miscarriage prior to its occurrence.  Maybe this is God's way of preparing me?  Or, maybe they were just due to stress and fears?  Thankfully, our doctor is making a referral to a specialist to find out what's going on after I have my second D&C on Monday.

Thanks, again, for the thoughts!

Personally, though i dont have kids and have never been pregnant, I think we can have premonitons. Like one of the posts above says, some dreams are b/c of our fears/stress and some are premonitions. If you wake up remembering your dreams, you may notice that certain dreams have a different feel to them. For myself, I can tell based on the waking feeling i have, whether or not a dream i had was a premontion or a spiritual travel dream (called astral travel) which allowed me to speak with a departed love one and such ( i know...sounds weird), or if the dream was just a stress/release/fear dream. everyone is different. About a year ago, i had  a dream about a 5 year old boy that was mine and he was out in this beautiful yard playing. I was standing next to a tree (couldn't see myself in the dream) and was watching him. The feeling of love that I felt in that dream is what I imagine it must be like to have a child. It was indescribable love! And he looked just like a combination of my husband and what my (twin) brother looked like when he was 5. He was adorable!!! Personally, i KNOW, even though I worry about fertility, that I will at least have that son. Also, about 8 months ago, i had a dream about breastfeeding this "son" when he was an infant. In my dream...i knew exactly what to do/how to hold, etc and the feeling (again, EMOTION WAS PRESENT IN THE DREAM) that i had of breastfeeding him was amaazing. Obviously I currently have no idea what its like but in my dream, it was such an amazing bond and feelign of love!!

SO...for me...yeah, i believe dreams are totally intuitive sometimes!  I hope that you don't miscarry though!! Good luck!

Strange dreams are very common in pregnancy (even for dads--apparently they can dream of having sex with the neighbor?!?).  Anyway, a lot of people do have premonitions in their dreams, others have dreams about their fears.  I personally kept having dreams of leaving my baby places.  Like my first dream was my baby in the carrier and i left him in the isle at CVS and the store closed and I couldnt get him until the morning.  I did however have a dream about a baby girl who I was told was deformed and had "hair folicalitis" a very made up thing where the hair goes in all directions and looks funny.  I ended up having a boy who was not deformed at all, but does in the front have hair that points in the opposite direction of the rest of the hair on his head.  I have odd curly hair, not pretty curly by any means, and was hoping all of my children, specifically my girls,  would have my husbands hair.  I think that may have been where the dream came from.  Good Luck with your ultrasound!!

I had very strange dreams before my 1st miscarriage.  I miscarried at 15 weeks, and I started having bad dreams about our baby around 13-14 weeks.  Unbenounced to my husband and I, our baby passed away at 13 weeks.  I think that it was the hormones... I had similar things happen before our 2nd miscarriage.  Although, I had a good feeling that we were going to miscarry the 2nd time.  Again, I think that it is just the hormones doing weird things.  Hopefully your dreams of a little boy are true!!  Good luck with the ultrasound.
