Hi all. I am 19 wks 4d and still waiting to feel the first thing. He is fine on ultrasound and moving around but I feel nothing. I think we're supposed to feel something by 20-22 weeks but it won't turn into regular kicks until a while after that.
I have only gained around 8-10 pounds. I can wear my regular blouses out over my pants and not even look pregnant. This is my first pregnancy. I don't have a round belly; it's like my whole stomach, torso, tummy area is expanding and blending together.
Here's some info I found on about.com-
"If you are expecting your first baby you can expect to feel your baby for the first time between 18 and 24 weeks gestation. If this is not your first baby you can expect to feel your baby a bit sooner than you felt your first. This is usually said to happen because you know what you're feeling for and your uterus is more stretched out than it was the first time around.
There may be reasons that you are not feeling movement as early as you are expecting to feel it. Many of these are normal occurrences, including:
Your Body Weight, Your Baby's Position, Location of Your Placenta"
Nevermind my baby is going crazy now. Thanks!!!
Hey same thing with me...I was worried because I wasn't able to feel the baby kick and my doctor said I should already...the baby is shown to be very active in the ultrasound...then finally this week for the first time I felt my baby kick on its own...since then I haven't felt sh*t!! lol, but they said it's normal to feel a kick one day and none at all the next...at least for right now...I think after like 22 weeks you should start feeling it more often...I'm 18 weeks and 5 days...and have only felt the baby kick once...but I know he is okay...for right now. =D
hi dsybahena... i'm right with you i'm 18weeks today!!! :) i have also not felt the baby move yet (except for a few flutters here and there) and this is my 4th pregnancy. as far as showing, i am showing but my tummy isn't hard either (i actually just made a comment to dh about that the other night). as for the prenatals... mine usually make me sick to take also but only in the 1st trimester. i take mine at night right before i lay down to go to bed to make sure they don't make me sick. if you can't even take them at night maybe your ob can give you a different alternative? but i think everything you mentioned is normal... :)
I am with you. I am 17 weeks 2 days and i havnt felt my baby move in the last day or so at least I dont think so. If anyone can help us that would be great.
