Racing Heart

So I am just wondering if anyone has had or is having this happen. I notice if I lay down too long and especially at night my heart starts racing. Almost like an anxiety attack but it is just my heart. Last night we went to bed early as we were all up early and really tired. Well I woke up at 11:45 soaked with sweat and my heart felt like I was jumping out of my chest. I know from past experience I have dreams based in what is happening around me or in me. So of course I was dreaming I was in a bank that was getting robbed. But when I woke up I put my hand on my chest and it was pounding so hard I could feel it. Does this heart racing happen to anyone else? Do you know if it is normal? I want to ask the doctor but I don't go to the OB till feb. 4!

It can also be low blood pressure.  Your heart rate will increase to compensate.(have that been in twice to be monitered)  When it happens lay down on your left side.  Also can be blood sugar.  I would also talk to your ob about it.  Good luck.

I have had the exact same thing, I have high blood pressure so it was initally blamed on that and my meds were increased but it did not go away.  So my doctor did a holter monitor,an echo and bloodwork.  Everything was normal except I was anemic and obviously high HR.  So I looked up the symptoms of anemia and the three that stood out were racing heart, palpitations and dizziness (I got light headed sometimes) My doctor started me on an Iron supplement and I haven't had a problem since :).  Call and ask if they can check your hematocrit (will tell if your anemic).  I was also still having serious fatigue during the day (two to three hour naps), also a symptom. good luck I hope that's all it is.
