I dont know :( I just assume of its being sold on the market its passed u.s. safety regulations:/ especially items/models that have been around for a while. Now, that doesnt mean it has the highest safety rating or anything. Sorry I couldn't help. Ask your dr for some literature on it maybe?
Usually hospitals offer tons of classes for new moms, labor and delivery and even classes for new dads! Call your hospital or go on their website and see if you can find anything (: as far as safety guidelines, I'm not sure of a website but as long as it's being sold in a store as a NEW product it had to pass the regulations otherwise that company would have a lot of legal issues on their hand lol. But if you're buying second hand or being given someone's old crib I would definitely look that information up on the Internet but I'm sure you could also call the birth center and ask or have them redirect you(:
Google consumer affairs or just Google govt standards.
Classes are great and I would suggest you take them. Check if your ins pays for any of the classes. I would definitely recommend cpr, baby care and birthing classes.
I'm taking a birthing class.. I'm 21 weeks and just signed up .. The hospital you plan on having your baby at has them and I'm sure your OB will talk to you about them if you ask her I'm a ftm as well and I'm taking just a 6 1/2 hour one day class only 80 bucks to ! People say it's worth it . You should sign up Asap because they get booked very fast ! And make sure you sign up a month before your due date so you don't forget what they teach you (: Good luck !
