Helpppp

I'm 19 years old,5weeks &my parents don't know my baby's father doesn't help or care what can I do if I have no job,support or money ???
I did go to my clinic but my midwife didn't inform me of any help or how I can do this alone :(
Even if I kept asking her questions she just seem to judge me why I got pregnant...
Can anyone advice me I live in chicago if anyone knows any help I can get please do tell...
Thank you

I would tell your parents! You might be surprised on the outcome. If for some reason they don't help, try your hardest to get a job, if no luck, only last options are Medicaid for insurance, WIC if you have that nearby, and TANF at welfare. :(

If i was you, id start now. Www.Dhs.state.il.us
you can apply for medical & many other things. Sometimes they do phone interviews other times u must go in to the office. If possible, talk to the social worker (typically they have one at dhs, drs office & police station) to see about housing. Good luck

Oh and the great thing about the state helping you is if the guy is under the age 18 his parents are now required to pay child support

you go to your local DSS office, and fill out a medicaid/medical form. You have to have proof of pregnancy(given by your clinic or health department), a state ID, social security card OR birth certificate I believe. It's also the same place that you apply for food stamps.

I was a young mom to with the same situation but my baby dad is just a bum. And is allergic to applications. The county will help you with cash aid and food stamps and there's a program called wic that will give free formula. Tell your parents and just take out one day at a time

There is state aid. Medical. Food stamps and cash aid. You should qualify. Tell your folks. It hard but you'll be OK. I was able to get of all that while living at home. They asked who I lived with and said she only gives me a room. All else I'm doing alone. And this was before I got married.

Tell your parents. They'll probably be more supportive than you think.
