Shaving???

This is probably the most embarrasing post I have ever posted but I was wondering how many women shave "down there" while they are pregnant. I am unable to see my "down there" now, which makes it hard to shave. I know there are ways such as using a mirror or getting the hubby to help :) but it is still such a hassle. I dont want to be miss bush women when I go into labor but it seems I am going to have to be...Do most women shave or is it best to just let it go!!!?
Thanks

I do shave, but now at 23 weeks + I can't see either. My husband does it for me LOL and my legs too. Makes life easier and keeps it nice and trim and clean.

my dr told me that you are less likely to get infections if you shave.  ( Bacteria grows only grows in a moist environment. )  And about the comment about using NAIR... that stuff has perfume in it and other things that can cause a infection.  I had 2 Ob's tell me the ******,  feminine wash,  scented tampons, scented  condoms, etc. are all bad.  When I was pregnant I sat on the side of the tub.  Having your hubby do it it a good way too.  i hope this helps.  Anita

How funny that I was talking to my sister about this today.  Like I said earlier I do shave my bikini line, but tend to get razor burn and ingrown hairs!  Hurts like hell.  My sister said to use Monistat chafing cream!!  She said if you put it on in the morning all the bumps and soreness are gone by that same night!!  I think I'm going to have to give it a try.  I don't know what is worse, going to the doctor looking like an amazon, or going in looking like you have a contagious rash on your yoohoo!!! lol!!

OMG!  I thought the same thing this morning in the shower.  I shave my legs.. barely about to bend at the waist to do this anymore.  I found it is easier to sit on the side of the tub and shave all those spots.  It's MUCH easier than standing!  Try that.

Thank you all for your comments. They were very helpful!! I did attempt to use a mirror the other day and it seemed to work out ok. I didnt go bare or anything just trimmed it up a little. I already feel 100% better :)

Thank you, I am not sure why I didnt think about that. I never used to have the itchy problem, but with being pregnant and things growing faster, I am sure that is what is causing it. THeres definitely nothing else there to cause it. Lol!!!! Thanks again.

my mother told me she used baby oil or baby lotion to help with the itching. She said that baby oil you should be careful with b/c after all it's your most sensitive area. And, that she would choose baby lotion over oil. Sometimes baby powder helped her.

But, it's all up to how you feel about it.

I jumped the gun on this one and aske my honey a couple weeks ago if he was gonna help me with this once I got too big to be able to do it myself. He also agreed to paint my toes for me if I need, but I may have my 10 year old do that for me and let her and my 7 year old play dress up with mommy. :-)

Blue--- I think I am having the same issue with hair "down there" growing faster too. My problem is how the heck do you keep from itching as it starts to grow back in the first 2 or three days. I just dont give myself enough time to shave every day, besides that, the razors are too expensive to shave more than 2 to 3 times a week.

That is the hardest thing in my opinion to keep up during pregnancy! My hair seems to be growing so much fastesr now that it has to be done every day! Iam 17 weeks and 1 day and I already have a difficult time shaving myself bare:( I know I was bare through out my last two pregnancys but for the life of me I cant remember how the heck I did it! One thing I would like to warn you ladies about , and I remember this very clearly:) Dont shave down there for awhile after you get home from the hospital! Esepecally if you had any tearing! It burns like hell! I didnt learn my lesson the first time around but I deffinitly remember from the last, lol.

I have been told it is safe either way. The only problem i have had is that I cant see down there anymore which makes it diffucult!

lol...I thought I was the only one worried about having a clean and presentable "down there".  Now that I am 29.5 weeks it is soo hard to shave and trim.  I find that it is much easier to shave about once every 2 weeks and of course the morning of an appt. and I only trim the morning of appt.   WHen I get closer to my due date I will make sure to try and keep tidy down there more often...Just in case of a surprise delivery.

I'm not pregnant yet.. "I don't think anyways" Still trying to figure that out.. but..
I shave completely down there. I can't stand the hair feeling. I also hate having hair pulled when I'm walking or putting a tampon in. So if I am pregnant I'm gonna enjoy shaving while I can and get the finace' to do it when I can't see! lol.

I've noticed if you have some hair there then it causes a smell that the guys are supposed to be drawn to but, I don't like it.

I shave my bikini line only and trim up the rest.  It is the best I can do since I can't see a thing down there!!!  My hubby said it would drive him crazy not to be able to see his parts!! lol!!

I am 35 weeks and it had been about 2 months since I last trimmed. I hate having too much! lol. I got a mirror and somehow managed to do it. It wasn't perfect, but better than nothing. I think having hubby help wouldn't be such a bad idea. =) I want it trimmed and ready for when I go into labor, I can't imagine letting it go, just my opinion! =)

I'm not pregnant...but what about Nair for private areas?  I know they make a brand called Veet designed for that.....All you would have to do is rub it on like lotion, then take a shower and it would all come off???  Just a thought!

I used to just lift my belly up and over with my first pregnancy. haha But with my second one I had to just keep it trimmed. That belly was too big I couldnt see my own feet! And yeah the "feeling" around was about all I could do to know what the heck I was doing! lol

I usually "trim"...I don't go all out bare but it does get more difficult when you can't see what you're doing.  I eventually get to a point where I just do the best I can by "feeling" and other than that I don't care.  So what if It's a rain forest when I go into labor...I seriously doubt they're gonna be focused on my bush with everything else going on.

I have been having a hard time as well, but i still try.   i hate the way it feels with hair down there.  I basically just wing it and hope i got it all, i might have to invest in a little mirror to help soon though
