For the already mommies out there

Just had my first born son two nights ago :) Jack Oliver 8ibs4oz 20 inches long, first night home and I'm wondering if its okay for him to sleep with a pacifier in at night? Or do I take it away once hes fallen asleep? Thank you in advance!

Also i read this the other day.
Putting your baby to sleep with a pacifier may also help prevent SIDS, though researchers aren't sure why. There are a few tips to follow when using a pacifier:

If you're breastfeeding, wait until your baby is at least 1 month before starting to use a pacifier. Introducing a pacifier too soon can lead to nipple confusion and cause your baby to prefer the pacifier's nipple over your own.
Don't force your baby to take the pacifier if he doesn't want it.
Put the pacifier in your baby's mouth when you put him down to sleep, but don't put it back in his mouth after he falls asleep.
Keep the pacifier clean, and buy a new one if the nipple is damaged.
Don't coat the pacifier with honey, alcohol, or any other substance.

My son used his and I had no problem taking it away. My daughter uses hers now so we will see how it goes when I do take it away.

My baby boy falls asleep with it in his mouth then spits it out once asleep. It's your choice.

You should take it from him because if not he will be used to sleeping with it and he won't sleep without it!  And believe me you do not won't to go through pacifier withdrawal when he's older.
