Sleepless Nights

Okay, I'm looking for a little advice on some SLEEP! Lol! I'm 32 weeks pregnant, and I know my baby may be telling my body when to wake up, but I can't get more than 2 hours of sleep at night- I am still working full time, so sleep is important to me!! :) But so is my baby and her health. I don't drink any caffiene after 7pm and I sleep on my left side (or try to ;). My doctor said I can take Tylenol PM, but I would rather not become dependent on that. Any tips from past mommys on getting a good nights sleep? I have given up naps during the day, but this isn't really helping either. Thanks in advance.

Awe-you guys are great, thank you so much for the feedback! I do have a body pillow, and I have no trouble falling asleep, its waking up at 2,3 or 4 and not being able to fall back asleep. Lol! I love my job, so I know its not stress keeping me up, just racing thoughts probably. I will try the tea and melatonin. Of course it didn't help last night, I think some kids were playing a prank and knocked on our door at 415 in the morning! Ugh! Lol! Thanks again guys! Hugs!

My sleep improved greatly when I got a pregnancy pillow. The contour of it and the fact that it lifted my top knee so it was level to my stomach made me SOOOO much more comfortable. The bigger I got the more I felt like my stomach was pushing into the bed and regular pillows kept moving, once I switched I was hooked. my DH hated it but I needed to sleep I was also working full time!

I guess the question is also what's keeping you up? Are your thoughts just going crazy in your head and you can't find peace? In this case I suggest to try meditation. It calms your mind greatly. I also like to pray, just say repetitive words and you'll get so bored you'll fall asleep in no time LOL!  Are you not comfortable physically? Right now that's what keeping me up. I just can't seem to find the right position. And the leg cramps are not helping. I feel your pain!. I think warm bath before bed will help your body and mind. That's what I'm trying right now. If you still can't get sleep then go back to your naps, at least you'll get SOME sleep :-D Maybe it's our body preparing us for sleepless nights carrying for our crying babies <3 Hope you feel better soon and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy in health!

I took Melatonin as well, but I also had to use Unisom occasionally as well. I've had insomnia since I was young, and have trouble falling asleep at night and actually sleeping. I used it on the worse nights, and it worked really well.

When I was pregnant with my twins I was taking Melatonin which is a natural sleep aide. You can find it at Target, etc. My OB said that this was fine as long as you wait until you pass your first trimester to take it. Works like a charm! Good luck!

Go to your nearest supermarket anf go to the tea section you will find CAMOMILE TEA BAGS  that are caffeine free. This will help you to relax more than the warm milk. If preferred, sweeten with honey as a more natural alternative to the sugar. Both Tea and honey WILL GUARANTEE COUPLE MORE HOURS SLEEP!!!!!

I PROMISE YOU.
